Sam never returned any of my calls. Or texts. He never came home on Christmas or birthdays he never replied ever he only ever messaged to wish the boys a happy birthday.

On social media he acted as if he was some great father but in reality he was MIA.

Which brings us onto this chapter of my life. I was pregnant with Sam's 3rd child when he left she is 9 months named Luna. Teddy is now 2 and half and Aidan almost 6.

December 2016.

"Bye mommy" Aidan said kissing my cheek and giving Teddy a brief hug. "Bye baby boy have a good day!" I replied watching him rush out to Harper to get the bus.

"I'm finished" teddy wiped his mouth about to jump down from the bar stool. "No can you eat a bit more please" I asked to only be ignored.

"Mornin' Lana" Nate said walking in holding Luna. "Hey" I smiled. "Fuck, I missed him" Nate sighed watching as the bus drives away.

"Gotta wake up early enough" I said proceeding to clean the dishes. "I know but that bed is just so comfy" he sighed.

"Really? Never slept in it before" I replied "that's because you always leave" he said "I prefer my own bed" is all I replied with and went up stairs to get ready.

"Ted C'mon buddy we're going grocery shopping" I said "I stay here" he said colouring in a stick figure.

"Nope come on be both gotta go" I said "no please" he begged. "We can get new pens?" I bribed.

He leapt off the window into my arms.
"Maloley get a shirt on we're going shopping" I said picking up my keys off the counter.

"Result" he grinned pulling on a sweater and taking Luna out of the High chair.

"Hey chunky chunk" I lightly squeezed her cheeks earning a big toothless grin.

Once we were all in the car I took a selfie with us all for Snapchat 'grocery shopping with the team minus 1'

"You're the only one full dressed" Nate chuckled setting off. "It shows ya'll lazy" I said turning the radio one.

Ted's favourite song Came on, "ready for war!" Teddy yelled as much as I've been trying to cut Sam out of our lives the only time Teddy has a smile on his face is when Sam spontaneously comes on the radio.

"Wanna switch stations?" Nate asked "no, let him have his 3 minutes of smiles" I said

We arrived at the store and put Luna in the cart. "Hold Nate's hand please Ted" I asked "no" he said "Please Teddy" I begged. "I can't like  Nate" Ted said shaking his head.

"Come on buddy you gotta hold on" Nate said Teddy groaned snatching his hand tightly.

After we got all the important groceries we walked to the isle where all the coloured pens were. "Pick 3" I said keeping my tight budget in mind.

"Pick as many packs as you want I'll pay" I heard Nate whisper. "Nate" I warned.

Ted had 5 packs stacked in his small arms. "No come on put two back" I said reaching down. "Please" he whined stepping out of my grasp. "Lana I'm paying the kid get as many as he likes" Nate said.

By the end he had a pack of every style from scented to glow in the dark with 3 paper pads to go with it. "You mister must start being nice to your uncle Nathan" I said.

"Bout Aidan?" Teddy asked. "We gotta go find Aidan something" Nate said over exaggerating.

"Hurry" I chuckled watching Teddy and Nate dart off.

We finally finished up and as much as Nate tried to bribe teddy he still disliked him.

"Are you still good to pick Aidan up?" I asked Nate I knew he'd always say yes but I felt rude just assuming.

"Always, he's got a game coming up tonight we should get the squad to come watch he's been having doubts i'm sure having all us there would bring his confidence up" he said "is he alright?" I asked.

"Yeah he's good it's just obviously being  the only kid without a dad watching from the side lines" Nate said. "I'll message the group now."  I said

Group chat: OG SQUAD +LATE COMERS

LANA:yo squad Aidan's got a basketball game tonight he's been feeling down because he's the only kid without a dad watching can any of you come?

JOHNSON: Of course Gilinksy and I will be there
CAM: yeah
AARON: I'll be there
TAYLOR: we'll all come Lana don't worry

I put my phone away satisfied with the outcome. "He's got potential to do so well with basketball" Nathan said.

"That's my boy" I grinned as we finally pulled up home. Nate unloaded the groceries and handed Ted all his new colours to organise in his box and Luna her giant bear.

I helped him put away the rest and we spent the rest of the morning playing with Luna and Ziggy while Teddy busily coloured and drew.

Luna adored Nate almost as much as Aidan did. He always managed to get her to sleep for her naps and always came over to help when ever I had problems.

Nate was in the kitchen cleaning the dishes from lunch. It dawned on me that he was always around yet still lived with his mom. I do admit over the past year and half I have grown feelings for him.

They were completely wrong as Sam could come back at any moment and seeing his best friend and baby momma together would make things bad.

But recently these feelings are just getting harder to contain but he'd probably freak out if I told him.

After the basket ball game if Aidan wins I'll tell him but for now he's just my best friend and damn hot one too.
