Chapter 18 - Birthday Party (Part 1)

A couple of weeks passed, and I'm all recovered. I still don't know who this mad man is, but it's just adding up to my stress level with work, studies, and the pain which would come every so often. I woke up today and it seemed very quiet. I went to the bathroom to take a quick shower, got on some fresh clothes, and went downstairs with Mark by my side. I saw Dad lying on the couch rewatching un-edited Grump episodes on his laptop.

"Mornin', Dad." I said as I went to the kitchen.

"Mornin'! Good to see you up so early and not having headaches all day." He replied as he let out Mark into the yard.

"Yeah, do you want anything for breakfast, Dad?" I asked.

"Oh, no no no no. Let me make breakfast! It's a special day after all." He replied. I was confused. Is it someone's birthday? I certainly don't know what's happening right now.

"Okay, then. Need help on editing?" I asked.

"No, it's okay! I can handle stuff by myself! I'm a big boy!" He replied trying to take the laptop away from me.

"Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh, nah." I said taking the laptop back and working.

"Fine..." I heard Barry mumble as he continued making breakfast. After what seemed like an hour of watching, I saw Barry put eggs and bacon down on plates. I put down the laptop and sat on a bar stool next to the counter.

"Thanks for breakfast, Barry!" Dan said as he sat on the bar stool on my left.

"No prob!" He replied as he gave Dan a wink and sat on the bar stool on my right. I was still very confused.

"So, what do you plan on doing today since today's such a special occasion?" I asked Barry.

"Hmm...maybe got to the mall before lunch? I'll think of other stuff on the way." He replied.

"Okay then. I'm sure Arin wouldn't mind if we took the day off." Dan said.

"It's settled then! We're going to the mall!" Barry said as I gave a small 'yay' like Dan in Sex Training.

I went back into my room to get my usual stuff like my phone, headphones, and a little bit of money just in case. I also brought my Polaroid camera since this was an occasion a never really knew what. I got Mark on his leash and went downstairs. Danny and Barry were already ready, so we went in the car, dropped off Mark at the office so he could play with Lego, and continued to go to the mall.

We got there and I just awe'd as how many people there were.

'Is this an event that everyone in the world knows but me?!' I thought to myself as we walked pass stores that they knew I disliked. Eventually, Barry and Danny stopped as I was walking while day-dreaming and bumped into their backs. This caused me to come back to my senses as I saw that they stopped at a Hot Topic.

"Aw, you guys know me so well!" I said as I ran into the store, the familiar black background making me feel at home. I went to look around as Barry tapped me on my shoulder.

"You can have as many things you want! Just not everything....we'll be flat broke..." He said with a giggle. I chuckled and went to searching for things. I came back to him with a handful of stuff:

• A FNaF Bonnie hat, Security Guard shirt and coat, Security Guard badge pin, and sweatpants.

• Steven Universe varsity jacket w/ hood and the Burger Backpack

• Pokémon Sun Litten and Rowlet plushies

• Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars Pop! Figures

I was scared that he would say it was too much, but he just smiled as happily paid for the stuff. He put the bags in the backpack, to carry easily, and went on our way to other stores. We stopped a few times while Dan went to other stores by himself.
