Chapter 21 - Find The Missing Grumps

I woke up a day later to my phone going off. It was 5:30 am, and I was getting a call from a random number. Like my last encounter with this number, I declined the call and went back to sleep. It usually takes me five minutes to sleep, but I didn't. Since it's a start of a new day, might as well just get up and get ready.

I took a good shower and changed into some clothes in an hour. That might've been a long time to get ready, but at least I smelled and looked good. Nothing was on my agenda except for going to the office and working, but before I got there I just made breakfast and sat on the couch watching cartoons.

"Hey, Sam! What are you doing up so early?" Dan asked.

"Oh, I woke up at 5:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. I also made breakfast!" I replied.

"Thanks, bud! You cook great." He said as he took out a plate.

"I say the same I you!" I replied as I poked his side with made him flinch.

"Oh, you do not wanna start a tickle fight with me, missy." He said holding up his pointer finger.

"What if I wanna start a tickle fight with you, mister?" I replied with a smirk.

"Don't test me." He warned me.

"Eh, I guess I'll just get a glass of milk..." I said making my way around him to the cubby where the glasses are kept and got some milk from the fridge. While Dan was turned around, I put my glass on the counter and immediately attacked his sides. He howled with laugher as he felt to the floor.

"What's going on here?!" Barry asked running to the kitchen as he saw Dan and I laughing on the floor.

"Sam picked a fight with me!" Dan said like a little kid, running to hide behind Barry.

"Sam. Explain yourself." He said strictly and walked towards me.

"Trying to pick on Dan, huh? You savage." He said as he tickled me.

"Ah!!! Please stop! I'll stop! Please stop!" I yelled with laughter in between.

"That's what I thought. Also, tomorrow's another special day, and it's not your birthday." He said walking away.

"It's gonna be that kind of day, isn't it." I said annoyed.

"You're not gonna be spoiled this time." Dan replied.

"You know this too?! Oh, come on!" I said as they laughed.

I went back to the couch as I went to Netflix and rewatched Stranger Things.

"Wait...I just remembered that you guys didn't tell me Finn Wolfhard went to the office! How could you?!" I said pretending to cry.

"You were at school, and we wanted to surprise you, but they left just before you got to the office!" Danny said feeling guilty.

"Ehh......" I replied pretended to cry.

"Ehh....Dan.....you suck!" I said imitating Dan's father - Avi.

"Ehhhhhhh...I don't like you the least." Dan replied as we laughed.

"Don't worry Dan, we're cool." I said.

"Cool." He replied as we continued watching.

I decided to go walk Mark to the park since it was a beautiful day out. I got my bag with some dog toys, treats, water bottles, and my electronics since I'll walk to the office afterwards. I left the apartment and walked to the park, cautious of Matt randomly appearing. He was nowhere to be seen so far, so Mark and I began playing. I took out a frisbee from my bag and unhooked Mark's leash.

"Go on, boy!" I said to Mark as he ran. I threw the frisbee and he caught it. He ran back to me as he dropped the disc at my feet.

"Good boy, Mark!" I said as I scratched his head and gave him a treat. We repeated the same process a few more times, and decided to take a break.

We walked to a bench that was nearby and there was a lady, who looked lonely, sitting on the side of the bench. I sat opposite from her as I took off my bag. I took out a retractable bowl made of silicone out and put some water into it for Mark to drink.

"Hey there! I'm Sam!" I said to the lady, trying to be friendly.

"Oh, uh, hey! I'm (Y/N)." She said holding out her hand. I took it and shook it.

"What brings you here?" She asked.

"Well, as you can see, I went to walk my dog here, and just a little bit after, I'm gonna go to my dad's office and work. The definition of working there is very difficult to explain since we're a big family, but not biologically...let's just say I work for a channel on Youtube." I said.

"Cool! I used to work for one of those too, but they kicked me out just because the founder got this new hot girlfriend. Not like I liked him, it's just that they kicked me out for a very stupid reason." She replied.

"I see. How about you? What brings you here?" I asked politely.

"Oh, this is just my happy place! I go here every time I have a bad day, which is everyday now since last week..." She replied looking down at the floor.

"Aww, well, I hope getting to pet my German Shepherd, Mark, make your day better!" I say as Mark walked to her as if on cue. (Y/N) started to pet his head as Mark sat down. She scratched behind Mark's ear and his tail wagged more. He started to lift his leg and thought he was scratching himself.

We talked a little bit more, but my phone going off with an alarm I set interrupted our conversations.

"Well, I gotta go before I get late." I said as I packed up.

"Oh, okay! Hopefully we get to see each other again." She said.

"I am certain that we will see each other again soon! Bye!" I replied waving my hand.

"Bye!" She said doing the same as Mark and I walked away. When I was far from the park, but not too far, I saw a guy wearing all-black clothes.

'Why is he still stalking me?!' I thought to myself as I got more and more creeped out.

On the way, we walked passed another group of fans. They took a little longer than the group Cassy was in when I first saw her. Apparently, the guy I've been seeing for this past few weeks still seemed to follow me around when I'm alone.

We got to the office and I opened the office door to see it was dark. No one seemed to be there - not a noise, not a light.

"Hello?" I said into the darkness as I saw a piece of paper shine in the darkness by the sunlight. I picked it up and saw it had an address on it and a note:

Go to this address. Don't bring anyone else with you. If you do, there will be serious consequences. Your family's lives depend on you. Better hurry!

I was genuinely scared for my life. I don't know what to do! Should I go there or not? Is this a prank or not? No, I'm not a baby. I will go.
