"I think it's high time you got to meet them, they've been in town for over a month Bridget and they wont be here much longer. I don't think we can keep postponing this for much longer." I was running out of excuses to give to my very persistent boyfriend, so without knowing what best to do or say, I decided to just avoid him. Not the best idea if I might add.

It's been days since I last saw Harry, which was no fault of his. I was missing him terribly but I knew I had to stay away for a bit. I couldn't tell him the real reason I didn't want to meet with his parents, they were his parents after all, his flesh and blood. I just couldn't. For both our sakes, I had to stay away, it was better this way or so I thought. You would imagine my surprise today upon seeing Harrison in my music class demanding I see him now or else he put me over his shoulder and leave with me without giving a fuck. His exact words not mine.

I had to excuse myself and have someone take my place because believe me when I say I wasn't ready to be dragged out of my classroom with my ass hanging in the air.

"You didn't have to act like a caveman in front of all those children you know" I said immediately we were in a more private setting, my office.

"You left me with no other choice princess" Things couldn't be more perfect between Harry and I until he brought up the issue about meeting his parents. Since then, I've been trying to avoid him like the plague which left our relationship in a bit of a strain. Why did he have to set up a meeting with his parents without informing me for Christ's sake, who does that. When he wanted something, he really goes for the kill that's for sure. Probably something I both admire and loath at the same time...Arghh...I was frustrated.

I figured one of us had to be level headed to avoid drawing more attention to ourselves. With him demanding for an explanation as to why he could barely catch up with my shadow recently, I had to come up with yet another excuse. "Baby it's nothing, I've just been busy please try and understand " I said while walking around him trying to look busy.

"That's all you've said these past three days. I'm not stupid Bridget, you've been avoiding me and I want to know why? " I guess I wasn't good at been subtle.

He knew me too well and I had a feeling he already had an idea as to why I was acting this way. How can you keep a secret from a man who could tell when you were lying or trying to hide something. I decided to drag it on just a bit longer. With any luck, I may be able to get out of this unscathed .

"What? Come on. You are imagining things here. Why would I be avoiding you?" I asked indignantly

"You know as well as I do that this has to do with you meeting my parents. Ever since I brought that up, you've been very evasive and I can barely get a hold of you. I just want to know one thing. Why don't you want to meet them?, They are a big part of my life and I am the man I am today because of them, so tell me Bridget, what could you possibly have against them? " He said with sad eyes and I could tell this was affecting him. It was time to fess up.

I walked up to him and held his hand. Thankful he didn't pull his hand away,  gave me the courage to look him in the eye and tell him everything I had been scared to say out loud.
"I'm sorry. I really am. Believe me, I have nothing against them. I'm just.." I had to stop to take a breath.

"Tell me, what is wrong?" He prodded.

I sighed while keeping some distance between us "What if they don't like me huh? I'm sorry to say this but I've met a lot of rich snobs for one life time"  There, I said it..it felt really good to get that nagging thought out of my head.

He looked taken aback for a minute but he soon regained his composure, walked up to me and gave me a light kiss on my temple.
"Princess, I get where your concerns are coming from but you can't judge everyone by one standard. My parents are good people and you being rich or not, classy or not, poised or not is the least of their concerns. Trust me, you'll love them I promise."

I was still a little bit hesitant but I knew relationships were all about compromise. Something had to give.
I apologised to harry and finally gave lunch date with his parents a chance. I had to at least try.

"Promise me you won't keep things from me anymore. Remember we are in this together, always remember that.." He said with every bit of seriousness. Oh Harry.. My Harrison..

"I promise okay.. I love you" that was my first time of saying that out loud and I was happy I did. We had an intense make out session before he had to go take care of some unfinished business at work.

The day went by in a blur and since it was Friday, I decided to just relax by watching some sitcoms while chewing on some homemade popcorn.

We had just arrived at his parents residence which looked more like a mansion. When we first arrived, I  couldn't help but freak out, but as always, Harris assured me there was nothing to worry about. I finally composed myself before he rang the door bell. The door suddenly burst open after the second ring revealing an elegant and classy looking lady. She looked really young and beautiful for a woman of her age, I guess money would do that to you.

"Son I'm so glad you could make it." She said with a smile as she hugged her son before turning her attention to me.

"And this must be the lovely Bridget. Oh son, she's beautiful. You're welcome dear" She said as she gave me a brief hug. I was taken by surprise by her action. She didn't have judgement in her eyes like I had thought. All I saw was..kindness.

We were still standing by the door when I heard a voice from inside the house saying "Woman, you can interrogate them all you want later, am starving" I had to assume that was his dad. We all laughed as she led the way into her home. I thought I had seen beauty and glamour at its peak but inside, everything was taken to the next level in terms of interior design, the decor. It was truly a work of art.

"Good day sir, you have a lovely home I must confesse" I commented as Harrison introduced us.

"Thank you. Its a pleasure to have you. We've heard a lot about you" His wife smacked him on the ribs with her elbow in order to shut him up while he just groaned in pain.

"Oh don't pay him any attention. Old people. Why don't we all get comfortable. I'll get us some snacks" she said and walked off while Harrison and I mad our way to the living room.

"So Bridget, I hear you work at the school max takes his music classes" he said as he joined us. His wife brought drinks and also made her way to sit next to her husband.

"Yes that's correct. I teach the keyboard. You have a lovely grandson, his so talented." A smile came to my face at the thought of max.

"And I own the music school. Fate my dear, brought us together" Harris commented as he looked at me love struck and I couldn't help but blush.

"You own the school? Why am I just hearing about this for the first time son?" His parents actually looked shocked on hearing the news

"Well, I don't really own the place, am more like a silent partner. The school was going through a rough patch financially and the school administrator sought my help and I obliged. Its no big deal" Harrison never stopped surprising me. He was a good man with a generous heart and the  more I learnt about him, the more I adored him.

My meeting with his parents went on better than I had anticipated and I felt silly for thinking they were stuck up rich folks. I starting to realise that not all rich people were bad and that I had to stop judging people merely from what I or the world thought about them.

Soon after it was time to go. We said our goodbyes and left for Harrison's penthouse because he insisted. We ending up cuddled in bed before I fell off to sleep.
