Harrison's POV

"Don't you ever pull a stunt like that with me, ever again. Did you hear me?"
I didn't wait for a response as i viciously held her by the arm.

"Between us, this is purely a business arrangement and nothing more, unless you'd prefer i walked away from your crazy ass. Remember what that would cost you and your father ." I said to Tracy in rage Immediately we were out of sight.

She scoffed "You need this more than I do and you know that besides, daddy wouldn't be happy and he'll make sure to destroy you"

I stared at her with indignation "Are you sure about that because last time I checked, I had more than ten investors willing to invest in the company. Your father was only chosen because he's friends with my father, so you see baby girl, I have nothing to loose. You're just a spoilt princess who thinks she can control men because she has a hot body but listen closely" I said as I moved dangerously close to her I could see her squirm under my gaze.

"I'll make you regret the day you set your sluttish eyes on me if you ever pull such a stunt again." I left her seething as I walked past her into the hall where I saw Jerry giving me a displeased look

"You're so gonna regret this Harrison" I heard her say to my retreating form.

"Hey man, what's the deal?, I know you and Bridget called it quits but that doesn't mean you should turn into a monster" My patience was running thin and I couldn't understand a word coming out of Jerry's mouth.

"What the fuck are you talking about man?" I asked perplexed.

"I'm talking about Bridget. I overheard someone talking about how they saw someone that fits her description in tears and the last time I saw her like that, you had something to do with it so I ask you again, what's the deal?" If i didn't know any better, I would have thought that Jerry was related to Bridget somehow because, he stood up to me the way a protective brother would and that is saying a lot seeing as Jerry had never stood up for any of my previous girlfriends.

She has captured his heart too.

Our brief conversation came flooding back and I couldn't help but cringe at how everything had played out. The thoughts that might be running through her head. I was so cold towards her and I didn't even know why. All I did, I did for her but for some strange reason, seeing her looking so glamorous, up-close and personal after such a long time, got me mad. Mad at her for giving up on us, for not wanting to take a chance on us and there she was talking about being sorry. I almost kissed the words right out of her, if not for Tracy showing up when she did and knocking some sense into me. She would always have doubts about us, about me and it was so frustrating because I didn't know how to reassure her that I was the man for her when I couldn't reassure myself either.

I forgot I was standing with Jerry and all the while he was waiting for an answer. His stony expression softened when he saw the drained one on my face.

"Come on, I think they can handle it from here, let's get you home." I could only nod my head in affirmation of what he said, as he led me to where my car was parked and promised to handle everything else including the signing of the contract.

"I'll see you tomorrow, try to get some rest and please, figure this out for the sake of everyone." He tapped the side of the car signalling the driver to take me home. I was silent all through the ride home as I kept reflecting on how the night had turned out. In some twisted universe, Prince charming always gets his princess and they live happily ever after. What a sick and twisted joke

Bridget's POV

"I hope you do enjoy your evening."

Those were his exact words as he left me standing alone in the cold. All I could feel was a gust of wind across my face accompanied by a bone chilling numbness as tears streamed down my face. I couldn't breath, I couldn't think, I couldn't move. I could only stand frozen at the spot.

After what felt like hours, people were starting to head for their cars which meant that the event was over. With that in mind, I ran. I didn't know where I was going to, I just ran but I wasn't running fast enough because all I could see was that woman kissing him and the image wasn't going away.

I remember he told me she was just a business partner. What a laugh. Somehow, I survived the confused stares I got from people due to my marathon race. I almost fell face flat  due to the length of my dress and my incredulous speed, if not for the strong arms that were wrapped tightly around my waist as i was saved from the cluthes of complete and utter humiliation.

"Easy beautiful" the voice, as elegant and smooth as ever, said to me as he got me on my feet. I was still dazed as I stared into those pair of blue eyes that reminded me of the ocean. He could only be an angel, i thought. There was no denying the fact that he was a beautiful man and he knew the effect he had on women from the smirk he spotted on his face.

"Hi, am Philip Raymond and you are Briget Summers. I'm so glad I'm bumped into you. Your voice, wow, it is out of this world. I loved every bit of it.
He said with a genuine smile. It wasn't until he pulled away that I realized his hands were still on my waist.

"Thank you. I'm glad you liked it" I managed to say to him. His smile quickly turned into that of worry as he filled his pocket with his hands. For a second, he just stood there staring at me like i was some puzzle he was trying fo piece together. After the scrutiny, he cleared his throat and offered to take me home. I, of course declined but he insisted. We got to where thecar was parked and I immediately could tell he was wealthy not that his whole essemble didn't give it away. I gave him directions to my place and he brought the car to life.

"Thanks for the ride...." as if he noticed I was struggling to remember his name, he quickly reminded me.

"Philip. My name is Philip. I would love to see you sometime again. In a more comfortable setting. This is my card. Don't be a stranger."  I thanked him again and hopped down from the car. I stood outside until the car vanished from my sight and then, I released a deep breath I didn't know I was holding in.

All the strength seemed to have immediately drained out of me as I closed my front door and slided to the floor. I sat like a lost puppy for a minute before the water works started rolling  in and I thought to myself, not again.
