Rinty came back with his kill. After he ate, they set off down the mountain. They were making a good pace down the mountain. Gravity was on there side. Artos couldn't stop thinking about what happened in his dream. By the time they got to the bottom Artos need a break, which Rinty saw.
"Okay. We'll break here for a little while." He said. Artos looked around. He saw a bunch of large lumps of moss near all around. He walked up to one and plopped down on it. Rinty watched Artos. 'I know that he is chosen. But, why was he a long way from the group? It was like his parents were trying to hide him from his destiny.' He thought. Before Artos went to sleep, Rinty started talking.
"So, what. Brought you and your family up this way?"
"Well," he started, he looked sad. "My whole family, except me and mother, was killed when I was two weeks old. My mother brought me up here after that." His face looked sad when he talked about it.
"Why here? Didn't yall have relatives elsewhere?"
"I don't know. Ma never really talked about her side of the family, and she never wanted to talk about Pa's side of the family." Artos didn't want to talk any more about this. He wanted to take a rest. Rinty could see this, so he just sat there, keeping watch while Artos rested. Rinty didn't understand this.
'Its not the things most wolves do. Rogue? That could be why. But no rogue before has ever been given such a gift.' He thought. But no matter how hard he thought, he could only come up with one word. Rogue.
Artos awoke a half hour later. He got up, stretched, and walked in a few circles. He found this to be much more better to wake up than to do it to get to sleep. He looked around, but Rinty was nowhere in sight. He sat down. He didn't want to move from this spot just in case Rinty came back. If he didn't, there was plenty of smaller animals nearby for food. A few minutes later, Rinty came through the bushes, holding two rabbits. He dropped one in front of Artos. Artos looked at it, bowed his head for a second, then dug in. Rinty ate his as well. After they finished their food, Rinty spoke up.
"Well, we still got a long way to go. Whenever you are ready, we can head out."
"I'm ready. Really, I'm always ready."
Rinty chuckled to himself. "Well, lets go then." They traveled for a good part of the day. By nightfall, they covered a lot of ground. Rinty found a small cave, so they went in and rested.

They traveled for three months to get where they are going. They started near Mt. Denali, Alaska. They end up right above New York state. It really is uneventful, so I will spare you the repetitive day after day same old thing. I will jump ahead, so that boring stuff will be passed. The only thing is, Artos now looks to Rinty as a father figure. But he calls him uncle. So they grew close in the three month trip to above New York.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"We're almost there." Rinty said. They have been traveling for three months. Now, it was almost over. Artos had grown stronger since Rinty first found him. He could hunt for just about anything now. He grew bigger too of course. They both stood on a large rock over looking Canadian Falls. (Niagara Falls' sibling on the Canadian side.) Artos was glad the trip was coming to an end. Traveling all day, every day was getting kinda boring. But now, they have arrived at their destination.
"Wow." Artos said. "Its beautiful up here."
"Yes." Rinty looked lost in thought. Artos looked down the rock. It was a long way down. But if he fell, at least there was water.
"You don't want to fall down there." Rinty said.
"Yeah."
"You'd be crushed for sure."
"Crushed?" Artos asked.
"Yes."
"But theres water down there."
"But at this height, you would hit the rocks at the bottom."
This made sense. (I won't go into the science of it all. But I could write a book of the science of this series. Comment and let me know.) He didn't know why it did, but it made sense. They made their way to a building two miles away. Up until now, they avoided any place there could be humans. Now, they were headed directly for one. Rinty never told Artos that was were they were going, but Artos sensed that something wasn't right here. At least in that it didn't feel like the rest of the trip did. When they got within sight of the building, Artos froze. Rinty kept walking. "Uncle Rinty!" Artos yelled "Humans."
"Its not what you think." Rinty said as he kept walking. Artos trusted Rinty, so he continued as well. When they got to the door, it opened. Three humans came out. They looked ready to fight. Rinty bowed and motioned for Artos to do the same. The journey was over. They were exactly where Rinty wanted them be. The humans look at them. They all stare at each other.
