It was the Alpha's mate. His aunt. That sounded weird. He didn't want to talk to her, but something told him to talk to. She was family after all. As far as he knew, she was the only family he had. He tried to walk up quietly to her, but somehow she heard him. She turned her head, but she knew who it was before she did anyway. Her head dropped. Artos sat next to her. They just sat there. No noise, except the waterfall. It was so peaceful. Artos didn't know what to say. He wanted his mother, not some stranger he just met. Artos didn't know what to say. After a minute or two, he finally decided to break the silence.

"So, what did my father do to get kicked out of the pack?" he asked.

"They didn't tell you?" she asked.

"They did, but I want to hear it in your own words."

"He was a reckless power hungry jerk. He killed a lot of wolves. Thats about it."

"But... Ma made him to be a hero. She said he was kicked out of his pack, then he turned around. I believe her." He looked at his aunt. A tear rolled down from her eyes. He could tell she loved her brother. Maybe he killed wolves, but if what his mother said was true, he turned out to be a good wolf in the end. He looked up at the sky. It was beautiful. Tonight was a full moon. He hasn't been around an actual wolf pack, but, this full moon, he wanted to be alone.

"My name is Talia." she said. Aunt Talia. Huh. It was a good name. He liked it.

"So, your my aunt."

"Yes."

"And that other guy.."

"Hinto. He's your uncle." Artos had to let this sink in. He was the nephew of the Alpha of this territory, he had some sort of power, and his father was a bad guy, who possibly turned out to be good before he was killed by hunters.

"So, there are these Chosen wolves. I have a fire birth mark on my neck."

"That means you are able to control fire."

"Yeah, but what about you? A star?"

"I have mental abilities. I can move things with my mind, can read thoughts, communicate telepathically, but we all can do that, and can create small objects for a limited amount of time."

"It was you who I heard in my head then?"

"Yes." She said. She looked back at the falls.

"You and my dad were close?"

She looked up a bit. "Yeah. When our parents were killed, he took care of me. Then we came upon this pack. Hinton wasn't Alpha then. It was his father, Hirako. His pack took us in. After a while, it felt like we were always part of this pack. The one who had the mental abilities at the time trained me to be what I am today. Kasai was jealous of all those who possessed this power. He craved high positions, that was his downfall."

They sat there for a while. Then Artos said "So.. I'm the only rogue to have this power?"

This question took her off guard. "Well, um, I guess so." She said. Artos tried to look at his neck. He couldn't see the mark, for it was to high on his neck. He felt like it was all a mistake. "This is a mistake." he said. "I can't have this power."

"You were chosen by the Lunar Queen. She is the one who gave us these powers. She saw something in you if it was given to you." she said as she turned to him.

"But was it a mistake? That is the question." He said.

Artos turned away. He felt like his whole life was one big lie. There was nothing more said for a while. When Artos looked back up at the sky, it was getting really dark. "We should be getting back." Talia said. Artos sighed. He wasn't to excited about spending time with the one who threw his father out of his pack. But he knew he had to go. Deep down, something told him it was the right thing to do. They both headed back to the building.

As they got to the door, Artos stopped. He wanted to be alone right now. "I'll be in. I just need a minute." He said. She turned and looked at him. "Ok. We'll be coming out soon anyways. Its a full moon tonight." She said.

He made his way a bit from the building. Brother. The Alpha sa.. Hinton said brother. That means that Rinty was his real uncle. At least he got part of the story right. Wolves turning into humans? It happened. Wolves given strange powers? If so, that would be wicked cool. Them birth marks tho. And what about his birth mark. And finally, a rogue having this power? If it was true, that he had the power to control fire, then he would only use it to help, not to hurt. That was a sure thing.
