Artos woke up facing the clock. It read 06:27. Was this what they ment by 10:30? What ever this was, it counted. He got up and looked around. It was still dark, so he just sat on the bed. He looked at himself. He was a human. This was not how he wanted to wake up.
He noticed light coming from the bottom of the door. He walked to the door and opened it. The light was coming from the kitchen down stairs. He smelled meat. That was a delicious smell. He got to the bathroom and dressed back into what he was in yesterday. Then, he went down to the kitchen. Talia and Hinto were the only ones up.
"Good morning." They said. But they didn't say it in unison. It was more of a Talia then Hinto good morning. I mean, spoken in that order.
"Good morning." Artos replied, sitting in a chair. He didn't want to sit really far from Hinto, but not too close either. No need to make things awkward on this so far good morning.
"We'll have bacon and eggs this morning." Talia said.
'Did you talk to her?' Talia mind linked Artos.
'Yeah.' he thought back to her.
'Annnnd?'
'And, she also likes me a lot.'
'Well, thats good.'
"So, when everyone comes down, we'll discuss the plan for today." Hinto said.
"Human world. Yeah. I nearly forgot." Artos said, sarcastically.
Hinto smiled. "Well, thats why I'm here. To remind you of the little things like going into the human world."
"Knock it off Hinto." Talia said.
"Alrighty then, sweetheart." Hinto said, as he got up to press a button on the door frame. When he did, a loud bell sounded throughout the building. Artos fell out of his chair when this happened.
Hinto snickered to himself. Talia threw a pot holder at Hinto. "Warn us next time!" She said.
"Okay okay." he said, then went back to the large table. Next thing you hear is foot steps, like teenagers in a hotel hallway. Dasker and Maria ran through the door, in that order.
"And I win again!" Dasker said with triumph in his voice.
"Yeah. Thats because your bigger and stronger than me. And you jog every day." Maria said, sitting next to Artos. They smiled at each other. Dasker sat on the other side of Artos. "Well, I think I'm the second fastest here." Dasker said, bragging on himself.
"Who would be the absolute fastest?" Artos asked Dasker.
"Hinto, of course." Dasker said.
Hinto looked away and smiled. Everyone knew that Hinto was the fastest in this group. Well, everyone knew, except for Artos. But now he knows, so, yeah. Everyone knows.
"Well, do we have enough time for a race before the food?" Artos asked.
Dasker smiled, then looked at Hinto. Hinto looked at them, then at Talia. Talia smiled and nodded. Hinto looked back at the two boys. "Yeah. I think so."
"Yes!" Dasker said as he got up and raced for the gym.
"You too, Hinto." Artos said.
Hinto raised an eyebrow. "You really think you can beat me?"
"Nope. I just want to see how fast you can go."
Hinto thought a minute. "Go on." Talia said, pushing Hinto's shoulder. "It'll be fun!"
"Yeah, unc." When Artos called him unc, he looked at him. Did Artos just call him unc?
Hinto sighed. "Okay." he said. At that, Artos did just as Dasker did and raced for the gym, passing the others that were slowly coming in. Artos passed his trainer on the way through the hall to the gym. "Whats the big hurry?" he asked.
