He stared at the full moon. It was brighter than he had seen it in a long time. He wanted to his family here with him. But he knew that it would never happen. Death was something he would never understand. And now he found out he has power. There's just no way. Controlling fire was for beings of more importance, beings more knowledgeable about such things, and beings more worthy than him. His father, and possibly his mother, was a rogue. This made him a rogue, and no rogue ever had these powers before. It was not logical for the one who chooses the elementals to choose him. He was the opposite of what they should choose.

His thoughts were soon interrupted when a female wolf came through the bushes. She had a brown circle on her neck. This was one he had met earlier. He didn't know her name, but he had a feeling that he would find out real soon.

"Hi." she said.

"Hello." he said. After all, he wouldn't want to be rude.

"I'm Maria." He could tell she was hyper. She talked fast and couldn't stand still for long.

"Artos." he said. He wanted friends, and he knew that to have friends you must show yourself friendly. It sounded right.

"So, can you control your powers yet?"

"I only found out about them today, so no, I can't."

"Oh, okay." she said, walking over to him. She sniffed at him.

"You don't smell like a rogue."

"Huh?"

"Your scent isn't that of a rogue."

"Well, yeah. I gathered that from what you said first. Who said I smell like a rogue?"

"Ender." she said with a sound of annoyance in her voice.

"Ahh. Is Ender good?" He asked. He obviously didn't know who Ender was.

"Well, let's just say she was a real pain in the ass all day today."

"Ahh. I don't see... Because I was not here all day today." He let out a nervous little chuckle. She laughed a bit as well. There was something about that laugh, no matter how small it was, that he liked.

After a minute of awkward silence, Artos decided to break it it. The silence I mean. "So.. What power do you have?" He didn't know wether she would actually tell him or not. She seemed like she would tell him tho. After what seemed like forever, she finally answered him.

"Earth."

"Huh?"

"I can control earth."

Now he was confused.

"So, like, you can control earth. But, like, how?" He asked.

"Like this." She said, raising her paw a bit. When she did that, part of the ground in front of them broke away from its self, and floated in front of them. It started spinning, then clumped together. It rose high into the air, then came down and splat in the little hole in front of them.

Artos looked dumbfounded. He had no idea that this could be done by anyone. He just stared at the ground where the bit of earth landed. Maria was laughing. Artos snapped outa his daze. It was just so amazing. Maria poked him with her nose, then ran off. "Can't catch me!" She yelled.

Artos was caught off guard, but quickly gathered him self together, and ran after her. She was fast. But he was faster. She knew the area. He did not. They were evenly matched for this chase. She stayed ahead of him all the way. Well, not all the way. At one point, she slipped behind a rock and let him pass. Then she proceeded to chase him. When he finally noticed what happened, he stopped and turned around. She kept running, but Artos just stood his ground. By the time she realized he wasn't gonna move, she started to stop. But she was too late, as she skidded into him, and they both tumbled to the ground. When they got up, she said "Sorry. I didn't think you were gonna stand there the whole time."
