PROLOGUE

"I hate being pregnant!" I growled out to Damen and he just sat there and smiled, shaking his head. I threw yet another shirt on the floor and sat down at my vanity mirror with my face buried in my hands.

I felt hands rubbing my back and a soothing feeling swept over me. "I love you being pregnant," Damen said calmly.

I scoffed "I don't! I just want the baby out already! My feet hurt, my back is killing me, I have absolutely nothing to wear," I snapped at him and he yet again just chuckled.

"If it makes you feel any better I think your beautiful," he said and kissed my cheek. I removed my hands from my face and rubbed my face to try and calm down. "Thanks," I whispered and he smiled.

We stood there looking at each other in the mirror. You would think that after all these months I would have gotten used to the idea of having a child. Yet, i still haven't quite gotten over the initial shock.

I was scared of the pain that I knew would come with giving birth. I was afraid I wouldn't be a good mother.

Mostly I was afraid of not fulfilling my obligations to both my pack, and family. "You're welcome," Damen said and I smiled as I went to stand up.

"Ugh," I said and he smiled and helped me up "I have to pee," I stated and he laughed but let me go. I ended up waddling to the bathroom and released my bladder. I finished and did all of my business and washed my hands.

"Better?" Damen asked as I walked, well waddled, out of the bathroom and I nodded. "Much!" I replied with a smile. "Hungry?" he asked and I realized I've been up here for a good hour trying to figure out what to wear that I forgot that dinner was being served now.

"Oh Damen we are late!" I exclaimed and he shook his head with a smile "Then we better go," he said as he held out his hand for me to take it. I took it gratefully and he helped me down the two flights of stairs.

It wasn't exactly easy either because I was over 8 1/2 months long and I was due any day now. To be honest I looked like a balloon and even the slightest movement could cause me to go into labor.

After a long eventful day of setting the baby's nursery room up my family wanted to have dinner all together. We agreed and now I was late. Even though it was just family and right downstairs, I didn't like being late.

"Nice of you to join," was my Mothers first words as we entered the room. I scoffed in disbelief at her and she just smiled nonetheless. "Sorry, she was finding something to wear," damen said.

My father smiled "And did she?" he asked and i laughed "Obviously not!" as i gestured to my outfit from todays events. We took our seats and i noticed Mike and Colette weren't here.

"Where are our Alpha and Luna?" i asked and my dad smiled but shrugged "Pack business," and i nodded.

My parents were thrilled to hear I was pregnant. Of course my father threatened Damen and my mother joined but it was a normal thing.

I had quit public school and now attended homeschool. I wasn't complaining either when they told me I would switch.

I did however finish out my junior year in public school, and when I started to show I was pulled out. It wasn't a publicity thing, it was more of a protective thing.

You see since I'm the weakest one right now I could be the target to whatever pack, rouge, species or anything. So I was kept close until I gave birth and even after that the baby would be watched closely.
