CHAPTER 14
It took the guards Damen sent out about an hour to find Roxy and Gage. Luckily though, when they did neither of them were harmed. "So they are coming home?" I asked.
"Yes they should be here soon," Damen assured me. I nodded as I began to continue working on Coopers Ball.
"Need help?" Damen asked. I laughed "Boy I thought you would never ask," I said sarcastically.
"Yeah here call all the Alphas in the U.S and ask how many will be attending. For any other information like directions give them Liam's number," I told him.
He nodded as he took my seat behind my desk and started dialing numbers. I smiled and went back to planning. Its been a week since I last planned and I still had to but the decorations.
That was the easy part. I had to set it up, send out formal invitations, reserve a band and on top of it all I had to make sure Cooper didn't figure out about any of it.
Honestly though keeping Cooper in the dark was harder than we thought it would be. "What exactly are you doing?" Damen asked as he hung up the phone.
"I'm finishing the formal invitations so I can send them out and hopefully they are revived by Saturday," I told Damen.
It was times like this I was glad I took a calligraphy course in school.
At least then I didn't have to pay someone to write out all the information I already knew.
"Right then why am I- Hi Alpha Blake this is Damen White, Willow Tanners mate," Damen began to say but was cut off but apparently the Alpha of Solitaire pack.
I chuckled to myself as he explained what I had asked him to.
"Of course so you are bringing 25?" Damen asked. I glanced up and decided to watch his flustered reaction when he spoke to the Alpha.
Weird because we all know Damen was stronger than any of them.
If anything he was considered Royal in the werewolf world. "Okay see you Saturday," Damen said as he hung up the phone.
"So far out of 2 alphas there is a total of 93," Damen said as he wrote something down.
"Anyways," he said looking up to me again. "Why am I calling the alphas if your sending out invitations?" Damen asked.
"Its more of a gesture. They know they are invited but this lets them know we are formal about these things," I explained.
"I'm guessing its an Alpha-to-Alpha thing," Damen said. I smiled "Yeah," I answered.
Then a surge of curiosity hit me and I couldn't help but wonder something.
"Hey babe?" I said as I continued to finish the last 2 invitations. "Hmm?" he answered. Well that was a very intelligent answer, I thought.
"When you were speaking with Alpha Blake you seemed flustered," I began and when I looked at him he was giving me a pointed look.
"I have to know the Alphas names and packs, anyways," I reassured him and he nodded.
"You're more powerful than any of them. Probably considered Royalty if they all knew it. Why were you so, well I don't know.... Nervous?" I asked.
Damen's face showed a knowing look.
I shrugged and finished the last invitation before I began to close them up and stamp them with The Shadow Pack crest. "All in all it's an act to keep the guardians a secret," he said.
