CHAPTER 24

So yesterday after the appointment with the pack doctor we came home.

Everything was fine, though because the twins are of werewolf AND guardian blood they are growing extremely fast!

Which means instead of a normal 9 month pregnancy, or even a 7 month pregnancy. My pups will be born in about a month or two!

So you can imagine the amount of surprise that I was and still sort of in. They were healthy, of course, and we didn't want to know the genders.

"So what theme do you want?" I asked Damen. Since we found out how fast the pups were growing we had to get the nursery ready.

Normally we would have waited until I was about 6 months long, but now we couldn't put it off. "Um, well we don't know what the genders are so.." he said.

He had Georgia in his lap while she took a nap and was thinking. I on the other hand was looking at a baby book trying to get ideas.

We did a peacock theme for Georgia which turned out amazingly well!

Now it was a matter of finding two themes that go great together AND can work for both a boy and/or a girl.

"No yellow either. It's always used," I whispered and Damen gave me an amused look and nodded.

"What if we did red?" Damen asked. I paused and looked up at him and thought. If we did red then we could do a rose theme for a girl.

"What about for a boy? How would red work there?" I asked.

"What if we did red and white? That way the boy could have baseball and a girl could do hearts or something." Damen said.

I smiled and nodded "So a ruby red or a cherry red?" I asked and he gave me a look like 'Seriously.'

I shrugged "There's definitely a difference so don't give me that look," I smirked and red the book some more.

"Which ever you want is fine by me," he said and rested back with Georgia.

"Well I was thinking roses for a girl and then you said baseball for a boy. So a lighter red would be pretty," I said and marked my spot in the book and placed it next to me.

Damen just nodded and laid his head back on the chair. "Shes hurting," I whispered. Damen gave me a curious look and realized who I was talking about.

His gaze lowered to Georgia and I seen raw anger and pain flash through his eyes.

"If only I could have killed Luka myself," Damen snarled. I sighed and stood up to sit on the chair next to them. "We need to talk," I said.

Damen nodded and stood up to put Georgia on our bed. After she was tucked in he walked back to the couch and motioned for me to join him.

I obeyed and as he sat down I rested my back against the arm of the couch and draped my legs over his.

His hands rubbed my legs slowly in a tender way. "So first tell me what you know that I don't," I said calmly as Damen rubbed my feet slowly. With a small nod and a quiet sigh he began.

"To make a 500 year long story short it started back when my great grandparents, the original Wolven guardians, were created. Every guardian species was made by the Goddess herself."

"She made them swear with their souls that if she ever needed to call upon them for anything they, and their descendants, would be required to come and do her bidding."
