Katherine’s POV
“W-what are you doing here?” I stuttered at my unexpected visitor.
“I wanted to see you,” I seemed to always be charmed by his smile.
“How long have you been here?” I turned to Martin for an answer as well.
“Not long,” Kyle shook his head.
“I’m sorry if I knew you were here I would’ve-,”
“It’s alright, really. You had plans, I wasn’t aware of them,” Kyle dug his hands in to his pockets.
“Would anyone like some tea?” Martin interjected.
“Yes please,” Kyle and I said in unison.
Martin smiled and got the kettle. I set my car keys on the counter as I took a seat at the wooden table.
“How have you been?” Kyle broke the silence.
“Fine, how are you?” I asked.
“Good. It hasn’t been the same without you,” Kyle cracked a smile again.
“Really?” I kind of laughed, not believing anyone actually noticed.
“Of course,” Kyle seemed a bit surprised by my giggle.
“Your tea,” Martin said as he placed the cup and saucer in front of us.
“Thank you,” Kyla and I said in unison once more.
“So, has he called you?” just like at the hospital I didn’t need to ask who he was talking about. I knew.
I dropped my gaze to my tea and shook my head, “No.”
“Look Katherine, you deserve better,” Kyle sighed seeing how unhappy I was.
I stayed silent. I actually didn’t want to hear it. I had been avoiding these thoughts for the past four months. I didn’t know what I was going to do when Harry came back. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted from him, from us.
“Are you really going to go running back to him when he walks through the door?” Kyle asked pointing down the hall way. I followed his finger and I swear I could see Harry. His hair was gelled, standing up almost. It looked crazy, but I loved it.
"Kyle you don't understand," I sighed.
“I think I’m going to go,” Kyle stood from the table. And he startled me out of my day dream. Harry’s figure disappeared as Kyle stormed down the hall.
Harry’s POV
I’d lost count of how many times I had rubbed my eyes. It had become a routine during my sleepless nights. I stared at the tv, not blinking once as it switched from commercial back to some shit show. A knock at the door made me look at the clock; it was almost three in the morning.
I lifted the white comforter off me and walked to the door. I didn’t bother to put on anything over my boxers before I opened the door.
“Lou, what are you doing here?” I asked, leaning against the door. I rubbed my eye once more as Louis yawned.
“Have you gotten any rest?” he asked. I looked over my shoulder to my room. The light from the tv was flashing over the rustled sheets. I looked back to Louis and I knew I couldn’t lie. He welcomed himself in and walked right past me.
“What’s up with you lately?” he asked, leaning against the high risen tv stand.
I rubbed the back of my neck, “Nothing. I just can’t sleep.”
“It’s her isn’t it?” I looked away and nodded.
“I just don’t know what to do,” I admitted, taking a seat on the edge of my bed.
“Call her,” Louis suggested.
“It’s not that easy,” I sighed.
“Why not?” Louis looked confused.
“Because,” I said taking a deep breathe, “I’m trying to let go of her.”
“Why would you do that?” Louis used his hands as he spoke.
“I don’t want to hurt her anymore. I’ve caused enough shit in her life,” I could feel anger rise within me. Just the thought of all of the events I had caused made me mad.
“Harry it’s because of you she’s still living,” Louis reminded me.
“But I don’t want to be involved if I’m just going to just keep causing problems,” I slouched.
Louis sighed, “She’s at the hospital being monitored, you have nothing to worry about.”
