Katherine’s POV

My hands were dug in to my coat pockets. I leaned against the side of my car. I looked around at the awaiting parents. I doubted the idea I had come up with the previous night, but it was too late. The bell rang and teens flooded out all doors.

I searched for the two bubbly blondes over the crowd of kids.

“Lilly!” her head whipped around and her jaw dropped.

“Katherine?” she seemed surprised.

“What are you doing here?” Lizzy snuck up beside me.

“I wanted to see you guys,” I smiled. They both exchanged nervous looks.

“Does your dad know you came to see us?” Lilly asked.

I shook my head, “No.”

“We should get going,” Lizzy pulled Lilly’s arm.

“I can give you guys a ride,” I offered.

The twins looked at each other, waiting for one to reply.

“I don’t think that would be a good idea,” Lilly finally said.

“Why not?” I was lost and just wanted one of them to tell me what they were thinking.

“We already have someone picking us up,” Lizzy jumped in.

“Who?” I quickly questioned.

“A friend,” Lilly smiled.

Both girls slowly turned and began to walk away.

“I just wanted to talk to you guys,” I confessed.

If on cue they halted. I couldn’t help but smile when they both got in to my tiny car. I drove to the nearest McDonalds. We ordered and took our seats.

“So what did you want to talk about?” Lilly asked as she popped her straw through the paper packaging.

“You know exactly what I want to talk about,” I eyed both girls.

“Promise not to be mad,” I nodded, egger to get an answer.

“We’re living at the other end of town, just until we finish school this year,” I scrunched my eye brows together. That answer only caused more questions.

“Why are you living at the other end of town? Why aren’t you back at the mansion?”

“Clive and our mom are getting a divorce,” my heart sank and I felt myself slipping in to the darkness.

Harry’s POV

The men and women were bobbing their heads as they listened to the song I had created all on my own. I was proud of this creation. I hoped they would allow it to be on our next album. I had stayed up night and day, making sure it was perfect. I wanted her to love it. If it didn’t make it to our album I would play it for her whenever she wanted. Hell, if it was the first track I would still play it for her.

During the tour I had become even more confused about my feelings towards Katherine. When I left I thought it was for the best. Being away from her was hell. I needed her, she might have not needed me. I didn’t care. I was hoping after she heard this song she would love me as I love her.

“What’s this called again?” a woman brought me out of my daze.

“Through the dark,” I cleared my throat and watched as everyone looked at each other.

“It’s a very strong contender,” Steve smiled and patted me on the back.

Writing a song for her wasn’t the main idea. From the beginning I just wanted to reassure girls with the same problem that it gets better. I wanted Katherine to know she’s not alone and I will help her.
