It as Friday aka the last day of school before Christmas break and Jack was going to a party with Zack and a few other friends to try to cheer up. He still hadn’t talked to Alex and he was trying to hide how miserable he felt it was getting harder and harder.
Alex hadn’t said anything to him since that last party, he never replied or favorited Jack’s birthday tweet made him feel even worse. Every time his phone went off, he hoped it was Alex contacting him but it never was. From the look of Alex's tweets he wasn’t doing too well either; can’t stop thinking about him, can I please go back to that day and just fix everything, and the one that hurt Jack the most; I am a horrible person and I hate myself and he probably does too. :’(. He could never hate Alex, he just wanted him back.
Jack didn’t know what to do, he talked to Zack, John, and even his mother about Alex and they all said practically the same things; he just needs his space, he was scared, and he’ll come around.
Jack just wanted tonight to be over, so he could go home and eat junk food and play games all night and try not to think about Alex. Jack is currently in the backseat of Zack’s truck with Zack driving, John in the passenger seat, and their friend Jenna sitting in the back with Jack. Jenna’s cousin told them about the party tonight; it was a birthday party for two of her cousin’s friends. They didn’t ask too many questions and she really didn't have much information about it.
Thirty minutes later they were stopped in front of a big house, there were a few cars surrounding the house. Everyone minus Jack hopped out of the truck and headed towards the house happily; Jack got out of the truck and slowly made his way to the house. He wanted really wanted to go home now, no one informed Jack that the party was in Cockeysville. They probably held that information back so Jack would come. He really hated his friends right now.
‘Come on, Jay!’ Zack yelled when he noticed he wasn't with them. Zack told Jenna and John to go ahead inside. Zack walked back to Jack, ‘I know you probably hate us right now, but we knew if we told you, you wouldn't’t have come with.’
‘You’re right, asshat,’ Jack said and walked back to the truck.
‘Come on Jay, he’s probably not even here and if he is maybe you two can actually talk face to face.’
‘He doesn’t want to talk to me. He doesn’t want anything to do with me.’
‘Wanna know a secret?’ Zack said ask he walked closer to Jack to lean against the truck.
‘Yeah sure, what is it?’
‘Rian sa-‘
‘You’ve been talking to Rian?!’ Jack looks up and glares at Zack.
‘Yeah he messaged me on Facebook on Tuesday, and we’ve been talking. He wanted to know how you’re taking everything.’
‘And that’s the secret?’ Jack looks down at the ground again.
‘No that’s not the secret; Rian said that Alex is just as miserable as you are. And that this party isn’t just some random party, its Rian and Alex's birthday party.
‘What?! You brought me to his birthday party?! Zack! I really hate you now!’
‘Jack, come on. Did you not hear me when I said he’s just as miserable as you are? Neither of you deserve this. Especially him, at his own party.’
Jack looks up at Zack and sighs dramatically. ‘You’re right. I guess. I still hate you just so you know.’
‘I’m aware but can we go inside now? It’s really cold out here.’
