Without You

Uncle Hakuseki's P.O.V.

Uncle Hakuseki let out a tired sigh as he ran a hand through his tangled mess of hair. He couldn't be bothered with grooming himself anymore. He was too stressed and worried to care.

(YN) had been unconscious ever since the incident in the alleyway. It had been nearly three months and she had yet to stir even once. The medical-nin said she'd eventually wake up but he couldn't help but worry still. It just wasn't normal...but he at least had the solace of knowing that she would eventually wake up. 

During these past few months, Kankuro and Temari would come at least twice a week to check on (YN) when they had the chance...Gaara on the other hand, would come as much as humanly possible. He completely disregarded anything but (YN). It's like she was his life force and he physically needed to be in her presence. At this point, he practically lived at the hospital. It got to the point where the Kazekage had to get involved and told Gaara he couldn't be at the hospital all the time. He could now only see her four times a week and was no longer allowed to spend the night at the hospital every night. 

When Gaara was able to see (YN); he would just silently sit in the chair beside her bed...he never saw Gaara do anything else until a week ago...

Uncle Hakuseki had left the hospital room to use the bathroom and when he came back he found Gaara with his face buried in the blankets on (YN)'s chest.

His small body was wracked with sadness as he shook with each sob that escaped his lips. Between sobs, he choked out how he wished she would wake up and how he missed playing with her.

It was really sad to watch... It made Uncle Hakuseki cry because he too wishes (YN) would wake up... but he also felt a little conflicted about what would when she awoke because of what Lord Kazegake had told him...

~Flashback to three months ago. When the Lord Kazekage brought (YN) to the hospital after her incident~

Lord Kazekage had called Uncle Hakuseki to speak to him in his office after he brought (YN) to the hospital. He assumed it was because he was going to tell him about what happened to (YN).

Just the thought of (YN) being in the hospital caused him to increase his pace as he quickly made his way to the Kazekage's office. He wanted to get this over with so he could check on her.

After reaching the Kazekage's office he knocked on the door, impatient to get the whole thing over with so he could check on (YN). 

"Come in."

Quickly opening the door, Uncle Hakuseki rushed into the room. Within moments he reached the vacant chair in front of the Kazekage's desk. 

"I've called you hear to speak about what happened to (YN) and to discuss some other things concerning her."  Lord Kazekage stated getting straight to the point as he gestured for Hakuseki to set in the chair in front of his desk.

What other things are there to talk about? As far as he was concerned, the only thing of importance was what happened in the alleyway. As if sensing his thoughts, the Kazekage spoke up.

"We'll get to the other things concerning (YN) later. For now, I want to ask you some questions." The Kazekage said neatly folding his hands together on top of the desk.

"Do you know anything about the Fenikkusu's clan's fire jutsu?"

Uncle Hakuseki swallowed anxiously at the suddenness of the question but responded nevertheless. 

"I've heard the stories before... how they can use their chakra alongside that of the Firebird's chakra that makes its home inside of them... but their clan's jutsu was sealed off from them long ago by an enemy clan in their village."
