You were six years old the day you almost drowned... had been about three years since then but luckily Naruto Uzumaki saved you. Due to this, Naruto very quickly became one of your closest friends. Regardless of the friendship that came out of this, you were still haunted by the memory of almost drowning...
You didn't blame Sasuke though. It was no one's fault but you could tell Sasuke felt like it was. You tried to convince him several times in the past that it wasn't but it was no use. He still felt guilty for it. Even to this very day, you could tell he still felt guilty.
The only reason you could tell was because of the way he acted around you after the incident. He would always watch you like a hawk and would try to protect you from harm whenever the two of you hung out. You found it very endearing but you didn't want him to feel obligated to look out for you.
You never brought up his behavior change after the incident though...You felt it would only irritate him especially now, with his cold and uninterested demeanor, you would never even think of bringing it.
You wish Sasuke was still happy like how he used to be when you first met him. However, after the massacre of his clan, he changed...It was understandable though...who wouldn't be changed after something like that?
~Flashback~
It had been four days since the Uchiha clan massacre and Sasuke had yet to show up to the academy since it happened. It was beginning to worry you, so you decided that once class was over today you would go check on him.
Once class ended you quickly rushed out of the classroom without so much as a goodbye to your friends. You weren't trying to come off as rude, you were just worried and wanted to get to Sasuke's home as soon as possible.
After a nearly 20-minute walk, you finally reached the Uchiha clan's main house...It looked so empty and lifeless...it was nothing like how it used to look.
Frowning at this, you quickly walked up the steps to the front porch. Inhaling a deep breath you raised your fist to the door. Just as your fist was about to hit the wood the door creaked open on its own.
You silently stared at the ajar door unsure of whether to enter or not. You were a bit afraid to go inside but you swallowed down your fear and entered the house anyway.
Glancing around, you quietly began walking through the dimly lit house in search of your friend. As you searched the house you paused in front of a door that was barely cracked open. Inside the room, you could hear soft whimpers.
Noiselessly pushing open the door you saw Sasuke sitting in the darkest corner of the room. His face was buried in his knees as his body softly shook with each breath he inhaled. In the center of the dark room, there were faint blood stains on the floor.
T-this must have been where they were killed by....Itachi
The thought sent a shiver down your spine as you tried to quietly step into the room but you failed miserably as one of the floorboards creaked beneath your foot. Sasuke's head immediately shot up at the noise causing you to freeze in shock. He looked like a complete mess. His hair was disheveled and his face was stained with tears.
"G-go away." Sasuke choked out with an icy glare.
"Sasuke I just wa-" You began but you were quickly cut off by Sasuke's harsh yell.
"I said go away!"
You frowned sadly at this as Sasuke once again buried his head in his knees.
He must be hurting pretty bad to act like this...
