A sharp pain engulfed your body as you collided with a hard surface. You felt as if you had just ran head on into a brick wall...the only difference was this brick wall was made of sand and was surrounding your entire body. It was painful and you couldn't help but to violently struggle against it in hopes of breaking free. The sand wouldn't budge though, in fact it only seemed tighten the more you fought against it.

"Why do you continue to struggle?"

You paused at the voice, debating on whether to respond or not. Deciding against it you quickly went back to your previous endeavor. You knew the owner of that voice. It belonged to Gaara who was standing about five feet from you.

He had remained in that same spot since his sand had stopped you and had simply watched as you struggled. You honestly weren't sure what to think or rather what to say to him so you just chose to stay silent.

"By now I'm sure you've realized it's pointless..."Gaara then added after a few moments of silence while slowly tightening the sand around your body.

The pain it caused was horrible and you soon found yourself being very thankful that the sand stopped beneath your chest. If it was any higher you were sure you would of stopped breathing due to all the pressure the sand created. It was a scary thought and you soon found yourself looking up towards the sky for comfort.

The sun was brightly shining and the sky was a welcoming blue. It almost made you forget about your current situation as you took in what you thought was your final breath.

As you exhaled you felt the sand suddenly stop tightening around your body. Scrunching your brows in confusion you removed your eyes from the sky and looked towards Gaara. His arm was raised and his hand was frozen in mid-air as if he was about to clench it into a fist. His face was blank and his eyes were strangely fixated upon your chest.

Utterly confused by this you looked down as far as you could and caught sight of your necklace brightly flickering in the rays of the sun. As realization struck inside of you and you looked back up at the sound of quite footsteps.

Gaara was slowly walking towards you but his eyes were transfixed upon your necklace. It was as if he was lost in a sort of daze.

"Gaara...what are doing?" Someone called from behind the red head but they were simply ignored.

"That necklace...Where did you get it?" Gaara asked or rather demanded.

"My mom gave it to me." You quietly replied trying to avoid Gaara's intense gaze as he walked towards you.

It was fairly quite after you spoke. The only sound that could be heard were Gaara's soft foot steps as he approached you. He was about a foot from you when a faint grunt from the nearby tree line stopped him in his tracks. His eyes slowly slid towards the tree line before returning back to your form after a few seconds of silence.

"You're a lair."

"What?" You uttered completely taken aback by his words.

"That necklace isn't yours. You stole it..." Gaara quietly mumbled looking down to your necklace.

"You can't be her." Gaara finished seeming to reaffirm himself as his eyes moved up to your mask. You couldn't really tell what he was thinking but after a few quite moments his hand slowly reached out towards your face.

You completely froze at the action and stared wide eyed as Gaara's fingers clasped around the light fabric of your mask. Slowly, he pulled it down until your face was completely exposed.

Nothing happened for a few seconds, it was as if the world stopped as Gaara took in your appearance. Then suddenly the world came back to life as Gaara's eyes widened in realization.
