My Perfect Year

January 5th, 2014-Sunday

Sharks are circling me there's no escape. The waves are growing larger and I hear my screams echo in the distance. I start having trouble treading water. I gasp for air and keep swallowing water, my heart beat slows. The sharks come closer and my reflection is in there eyes. I'm pulled under and try to scream.

"Missy, Missy wake up", James shakes me urgently. My eyes open and I hug him and cry. "Shhhh, it's ok settle down", he says soothing me. "You just had a bad dream", he says hugging me harder and closer.

I wake up and I'm still in James arms. He looks down at me and leans down and kisses my lips. My arms immediately goes around his neck. His tongue slowly goes into my mouth, I pull away. "Sorry, I can't do this. I have a boyfriend", I say.

Later that day I get dressed in a cute marvel cut off swear shirt, jeans, converse, and take the rollers out of my hair so it's curly. Cullen comes by the house to take me out to eat before Chloe's party at 6:00pm. Were going to Olive Garden even though we're not exactly dressed for it. Actually scratch that Cullen has his usual polo shirt, khakis, and vans on. So I'm the only one who's not dressed "properly". We order out food.

When our food finally arrives we talk about what's going to happen at Chloe's party. "If we play spin the bottle your the only girl I'm going to kiss", Cullen says. "Um well I would hope so", I say a little defensively. "I know what happened with you and James this morning", Cullen says. I spit my food out. "Cullen I'm so sorry it's just he only has until November", I say blubbering. "Its ok he told me the situation and I'm ok with it every once in a blue moon. As long as you love me more", he says. "Of course I love you more", I say and we bend across the table and kiss.

After getting out of Olive Garden it's only 4:00pm. Usually Chloe, Macy, Hazel, and I would be at volleyball practice but they decided to just have it Monday. So Chloe's having her party obviously. It's supposed to be from 6:00pm-9:00pm but of course Hazel, Macy, and I are coming earlier. Since Kohls is right next to Olive Garden I stop into "look". Cullen and I walk to the jewelry section hand in hand. "Do you like this?", Cullen asks showing me a silver infinity ring. "It's beautiful but I'd love a diamond in the middle", I say trying to give him a hint for my birthday. "I can tell your hinting at it for your birthday. You can just get me a polo shirt considering my birthday is before yours", Cullen says. I roll my eyes and pull him towards the door to leave.

We drop Cullen off at his house so I can go to Chloe's early. When I arrive at Chloe's I knock on the door. Chloe answers, pulls me inside and brings me up the stairs to her room. She shuts the door. "Finally your here",Chloe says. "Its only like 5:00pm", I say. "But everyone knows that the early birds come at like 5:45pm", Macy says. "For realizes. Get with it Missy", Hazel says. "Sorry, I went out to eat with Cullen", I say. "Oh by the way I invited James", Chloe says. "What! Why? This is going to be such a mess", I say unenthusiastically. "Chill you'll be fine. Oh and I'm twining with you", Hazel says.

When the guests start arriving we go outside to the bonfire. James walks over and sits in front of me. Cullen arrives and sits on my right. I look around and see Macy and DJ in a corner "talking". DJ pulls Macy away and I shake my head. Eaton walks up to me and Cullen puts his arm around me protectively has I talk to James. "Do you have any idea why Macy dumped me?", Eaton asks me. "I have no idea", I lie casually because of course I know. "Ok. Im coming back later and finding out", Eaton says. "Whatever", I say and wave him away.

Later as 8:00pm rolled around we had played spin the bottle, made s'mores and Macy and DJ had finally come out of the woods. Eaton walks over. "Listen here. You need to tell me why Macy broke up with me because she's ignoring me", Eaton says. "Um excuse me but I don't have to tell you anything", I say standing up and shaking Cullen's arm off my shoulders. "Little bitch don't mess with me", Eaton says. "What did you just call me?", I ask through clenched teeth. "Sweetie just ignore him he's just trying to get the information he wants", Cullen whispers in my ear. "You heard me bitch", Eaton says to me. Cullen holds me back. Everyone stops what there doing and looks at us. Cullen looks at Eaton and says "Listen here, you leave my girlfriend alone or you'll be sorry". James gets up and walks over to us. "B-I-T-C-H bitch tell me right NOW", Eaton says. James clenches his fist. "Cullen isn't going to do anything but I am", James says."Oh what are you going to do", Eaton says. "This", James says and punches him in the face. James then starts punching and kicking him until he's lying on the ground holding his head in his hands. "JAMES, JAMES STOP", I scream and pull him away from Eaton. "Bro why the hell did you do that?", Cullen screams at James. "You weren't going to do anything", James responded to Cullen. His shirt and sleeves covered in Eaton's blood. As they cleaned James and Eaton up I started thinking seriously about what Janes said.

I arrive home and send a mean text to Eaton and a thank you text to James. Then I text Cullen and ask him if what James said was true. I trudge upstairs, take a shower and plop down in bed and close my eyes.
