Shit has literally hit the fan since July. Tris and Four had a bad breakup, yeah, but the text I just got is probably worse.
Tris and Four are in the middle of a half-surprised-half-irritated staredown- Tris being the irritated half, of course.
"Um guys, hate to burst your fucked-up-romance bubble and all, but we've got issues."
Uriah leans over and looks at the message. "Major issues." He adds.
Tris is momentarily distracted. "What is it?" Marlene asks.
I let out a sharp breath. "Our favorite group is back."
Several people talk at once. "Peter." Tris says.
"Eric." Marlene's eyes widen.
"Molly." Shauna sighs.
"Drew." Lynn swears.
"Exactly." Uriah and I share an exasperated look. "And there's a catch."
This get's Four's attention. "What is it? They've suddenly seen the light? They want to be best friends?"
"No. Peter's memory is gone."
Everyone falls into a shocked silence.
"Gone?" Tris is the first one to explode. "What do you mean, gone?"
"Poof. Gone. Nonexistent." Uriah makes weird hand motions. "Dumbass smacked his head against the wall a ton of times and lost his memory or something."
Tris looks half-ready to bolt. Shauna forces her to sit down and talks to her in a quiet, soothing voice.
Lynn's phone rings loudly, making us all jump. Tris covers her face with her hands. According to Marlene, she's been getting panic attacks and mental breakdowns pretty frequently. If she's getting one now, this is not the time since Four's here. God, he'd flip his fucking shit.
Lynn lets out a moan. "Guys, we've got another problem."
"What this time?" Four groans.
Lynn looks up, and I see one thing in her eyes- pure fear. "Remember how Lauren was in rehab after she O.D.'d on those drugs?"
"Spit it out, Lynn." Uriah motions for her to hurry up.
She glances back down at her phone and then back up at us. "She's gone."
