A/N: I'm not officially "back" yet, but this is a little something for you guys since you've been so amazing :)
Tris makes me sit with our group for lunch. God, she so owes me for this.
It's just not the same without Will, Al, and Lauren. Especially without Lauren. Cara sits with some other nerdy kids that Uriah and Zeke- and some of their asshole friends- have decided to call Noses. I have no clue why. They're total dumbasses.
I sit between Lynn and Tris and discuss teachers and classes and all that with them and eat my food, and that's that. At the end of lunch, I check my schedule. Public speaking. Joy.
I walk into Mr. Markham's class and take a seat at the back, dropping my pen and notebook on top of the black table. Someone takes a seat next to me.
"Hey." I look over. God. Tommy Raybach, one of Uriah's friends.
"What do you want?" I snap. "To try and hook me back up with Uriah?"
He gives me this grin that looks like a cross between a smile and a smirk and roles his eyes. "Of course not. Can't I sit next to a pretty girl?"
"Nice try." I narrow my eyes. "That shit might work on other girls, but flattery will get you no where with me."
His brown eyes glint almost dangerously. "Oh, so now we're playing hard to get?" He smirks. "I bet I can knock you off of that."
I mimic his look. "Oh really?"
"Really." He leans a little closer. "How about this- if you flirt back with me at all before the end of the year, I take you on a date."
"And if I don't?" I know I can beat this asshole.
"Then I won't bug you again." He leans back in his seat and faces the front just as the teacher walks in. I'll admit it- he's actually kind of hot.
Damn it.
This might be harder than I thought.
