Kellin's POV
The issue with Vic's old boss took my mind of my throbbing head. He doesn't really want to talk about it, which is okay. Vic made me promise to not go after Mr McCracken. I agreed, but it's harder said than done.
Vic was spread out on the sofa, fast asleep. I walked over to him, slowly, trying not to wake him. I gently pulled his shirt up, revealing his injuries. The wounds were healing, slowly, but clearly. I took a shaky breath and sat back down. I couldn't get my head round how someone could do such a nasty thing to such as sweet guy like Vic. My eyes overflowed with tears as I tried to imagine the amount of pain he was in. I quickly wiped the rolling tears away as i saw him begin to wake up.
His big brown eyes flickered open. I smiled. 'Hey.' I whispered. He returned the smile. 'Hey.' He whispered back. 'How are you feeling?' I asked, anxiously. He pulled himself into a sitting position. 'Im okay. Hows' your head?' He replied. I smiled slightly. 'I guess this has taken my mind off it a bit.' I whispered. He chuckled quietly. 'Should I get beaten up everyday then?' He joked. The thought of that made my stomach lurch. 'No! Of course not! Don't even joke.' I practically yelled. Tears trickled down my face once again. 'Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you.' He whispered. I walked over to him and sat down. 'Please don't ever say anything like that again.' I sobbed, wrapping my arms around him.
My head started to really hurt again. I kept my arms wrapped around Vic for what seemed like hours. When I finally pulled away, the warmth was lost. The pain was coming back a lot now and it was starting to get unbearable. I got up and took so more Paracetamol. 'Kells, you already took loads earlier.' Vic reminded me. 'I know.' I replied, washing down the two pills with water. 'Is it hurting again?' He asked, concerned. I nodded. 'Probably not as much as your waist does though.' I added. He shook his head. 'It doesn't hurt anymore.' I knew he wasn't lying, I'd be able to tell. I nodded and held back a cry as a sharp pain spread across my head. 'Bugger, I have band practice today.' Vic said quickly, looking at his watch. 'I don't want to leave you if your head hurts.' He whispered. I shook my head. 'It's fine, are you sure you're okay?' I replied. He nodded quickly. 'Okay.' I smiled. He rang Tony up to confirm he could definitely make it.
The pain was getting worse and worse and I could feel my eyes fill up with tears. I took a deep breath, but It was obviously shaky and Vic heard it. 'Thats it.' He said. I looked at him, confused. 'W-what?' I stuttered. 'I'm getting you a doctors appointment, today.' He said. I sighed. There was no point arguing. Maybe they could get me better medication. 'I'll have to phone Tony back and tell him I can't make it.' He said. 'No. You go, I'll be fine.' I said. He hesitated. 'You sure?' He asked. I nodded. He smiled and kissed my forehead. 'I better get going, traffic might be bad.' He said, giving me a warm smile. 'Okay.' I whispered. He reached the door and said 'Good luck, Love you.' I smiled, 'Thanks, I love you too.' I whispered back.
As soon as the door slammed shut, I dropped to my knees and buried my head in my hands. It was agony. Tears blurred my vision. How could there be so much pain in such a little area? I guess i'll just have to wait and see what the doctors say..
Vic's POV
I haven't been outside since the 'incident' happened with my old boss, and to be honest, I was terrified. I stepped outside and glanced around, making sure he wasn't lurking round any corners. I breathed a sigh of relief. It was okay. I climbed in my car and started driving. I checked the time. I have 20 minutes. I started the engine and put Nine Inch Nails on.
20 Minutes later..
I jogged to the practise room, not wanting to be late. Mike was sat in the corner, on his phone. 'Hiya, bro!' I said, happy to see him again. 'How's it going?' He asked, clapping me on the back. 'Alright, where's everyone else?' I asked, looking round the room. 'They're caught in traffic.' He answered. I nodded. We stood in silence for a minute as he checked his phone. My thoughts went to Kellin. I hope he's okay. He has his appointment in about 1 hour. I wish I could go with him. Mike snapped me out of my daze. 'You alright? You look a bit..kinda..' He said. 'Yeah, Im fine.' I replied, but as I did, my voice broke and my eyes filled up with tears. 'Hey, what's wrong?' He asked, kindly. I shook my head and wiped my tears with my sleeve. 'Nothing, I'm okay.' I sniffed. 'Well, you're obviously not. Bro, I'm here for you.' He said. I took a deep breath and explained everything. Mr McCracken, Kellin, Kellin's near attempt of suicide. He listened carefully the whole time. 'Oh my god!' He gasped, when I had finally finished.
'Where did he hit you?' He asked. I lifted my shirt up to show a slightly faded, but still highly viewable, Red gash. His eyes widened. I pulled my shirt back down, slightly embarrassed. 'I-I H-how. W-why?' He stuttered. 'I don't know.' I whispered. We sat there in silence for a minute. 'I'm sure Kellin will be okay.' He said, breaking the silence. I smiled and nodded.
We heard the familiar laughs of two people outside the door. Jaime and Tony. 'Hiii!' Jaime said, cheerfully. 'Hi' I laughed. I could see Mike smile slightly at me in the corner of my eye. I'm glad I have him as a brother. I know I can tell him anything.
We ran through a couple old songs and we finished the whole of Texas is forever. We started our new song Dive in Which went really well, we've nearly got through the whole thing. I checked my phone to see if Kellin's texted me. Nothing. I looked at the time. He'd be in the doctors now.
Oh God, I really hope he's okay.
Kellin's POV
I sat in the waiting room. My head hurt more than ever now, and I don't think the nerves helped. 'Mr Quinn?' A lady asked. I stood up and took a deep breath. You'll be fine. I told myself.
I walked into the doctors room. She smiled at me and said 'Take a seat.' I did as she said and sat down. I explained to her what was going on. She asked how much it hurt on a scale of one to ten and how it hurt now. 'Usually, about 8ish. But at the moment roughly 9.5' I said. She nodded and scribbled a couple of things down. She looked up from her paper and smiled. 'If you would like to come with me, Mr Quinn.' She said. I nodded and followed her. She led me into a room with a massive machine.
'I'd like to do a scan of your brain.' She said. I nodded. 'How long will this take? I need to pick my daughter up from Pre-school.' I said. She smiled. 'It should be about 30 minutes.' She replied. I nodded. 'Thats okay.' I Have to pick Copeland up in 1 hour, so hopefully I should make it.
After the scan was done I had to wait for 10 minutes to get the results. I waited, again, in the waiting room. The same Doctor came out. 'Mr Quinn?' She asked, looking at me. I nodded and got up. She sat behind her desk. She looked at the chair as in to say sit. I walked over to the chair and sat down. The suspense was killing me.
She gave me a sympathetic look. 'I'm so sorry.' She said. My heart stopped. 'I-Its not g-good?' I asked. She shook her head slowly. I felt sick. 'Im really sorry, Mr Quinn. You have a brain tumour.'
This couldn't be happening. It can't be real. It has to be a dream.
