I wrote this immediately after the previous chapter and have been waiting to release it. Please don't expect another update from me anytime too soon, I just got out of a long term relationship (2 & half years) and it's been hard. I love you readers, thanks for supporting Vixen!

Chapter Twenty: Raphael - Unedited

I honestly hated the feeling of being completely helpless. It's probably been almost twenty four hours now of being held against my will in a chamber made entirely out of silver. I could stand without my knees buckling beneath me and collapsing to the ground. The Hunter on duty continued to laugh, and poke fun at my attempts to break free of the burning shackles that kept me bound to the torture room. I felt my mental link to poor Coralina dead.

Was she okay? Did she managed to escape?

Hunters were playing for all sorts of different teams nowadays. There apparently had been one sent from Cyrus himself to capture my girl. I was sitting in a cell with Hunters, who wanted me capture to lure in Coralina to the them. These Hunters were only Hunters. They had no hidden agendas, in fact they were plotting to annihilate the entire vampiric race.

Hunters generally respected the Angels, but they disregarded the fact that original vampires were linked to Angels. Killing all vampires would leave angels extremely vulnerable when they were already few and sparse. Angels monitered the original vampires religiously from what I've heard, but of course, the original vampires always managed to slip under the radar. Though the two kinds despised one another, Angels wouldn't off their other half. They wouldn't want to leave themselves susceptible to an easy death.

I groaned as the silver's pain started to become an odd numb tingling sensation against my bare skin. I was wearing nothing, and I think the female Hunter watching me was enjoying the view far too much. She kept ogling me and every contour of my muscles

I smirked in her direction with the rest of the power in my body. She returned the nasty smirk, and I watched as her eyes flashed with desire. I understood, I was eyecandy regardless of being a despicable animal to them. If I flirted with her enough, maybe, just maybe, she'd be foolish enough to let me go in hopes of getting me in bed.

Men made women go crazy, and women made men do crazy things. I was nearly willing to sleep with the fiery red head if it meant escaping and finding my Coralina. I would return to her and protect her with my life no matter the circumstance.

You're doing such a great job at that, my wolf sneered unhappily. He was taking the brute from the silver, and I was just wallowing in the pain numbing ignorance at the moment before it began to sear my skin once more.

"Do you have any idea what's going to happen to you if your girlfriend doesn't show up?" The flame headed Hunter piped up. I gave her my attention and forced my body up enough to look at her.

"No," I said through clenched teeth.

Look at the almighty Alpha, caged by mere Hunters, my wolf mocked me. He was in a terrible masochistic and cynical mood. I refused to let my anger boil because of him, he was only volatile due to the silver slowly poisoining us.

"We're hunting down the sorceror that turned her, and her doppleganger. If she doesn't show up before we get them both, we're transforming you into a beaitiful disastor." Her smile was a thn, wide Cheshire cat smile that nearly had my skin crawling. I adored Coralina, but I didn't want to become what she was. Her inner demons caused her to struggle daily.  I was supposed to be that one stable person to keep her from succumbing to whatever was eating her up inside.

Her inner turmoil was easily revealed by her contemplative green eyes, but I doubted she ever even admitted to herself the struggle. Coralina liked to live under the impression that she was okay, and everything was going to end up just fine. I had learned that about her in the month she was living under my roof.
