I would really appreciate it if you guys would take your time to check out "Total Knock Out" my new novel. The description for the novel is down below in my usual author's note.
Chapter Twenty-Eight: I'm can't even believe it. Only four more chapters.
That's right -- Jack had declared that we were already under a minor attack. As soon as I jumped to take action, I wanted to fall over and hurl due to the massive head rush. Instead of leading them to victory, I was flailing in my own failure to stand.
No one would let me take charge; at the moment I was too weak in their eyes to handle the attacks. I wasn't fit to lead. Just because I was suffering from a little blood loss did not mean I wasn't mentally strong. I had a sense of how vampires worked, and my knowledge could guide our wolves to salvation.
"Let me at them," I snarled vehemently at the two muscled wolves holding me back, restraining me from promptly following behind Jack. The authoritarian exterior Jack gave off was really starting to irk me, and wedge itself under my skin. Regardless if he was from Alpha blood. this was still my pack, and they were still under my rule
"You need bed rest," A doctor with worn features of forehead creases, and dark circles patronized. I barely spared him an acknowledging glance. It didn't take long but then the idea slapped my across the face.
"You need to let me go and guide this pack to safety," I spoke my words as evenly as possible. In the background I could hear Raphael's protests, but they were muffled by the angry sharp howls of my wolf.
I felt the power flow throughout my body, and without having to make eye contact with each individual targeted, they instantly abided my command. The two male nurses dropped their taut grips, and no one further tried to halt me in my tracks. Raphael was still making disgruntled sounds in the background, but I knew too well that he was more injured than I was. He wasn't going to hobble after me tonight.
This was my war to fight.
There was only one bloody vampire wandering around town, and he would make a great practice dummy for me to demonstrate on.
Getting out of the infirmary was a task all in itself. I padded along the cold floor without shoes, and made my way through the maze of neverending halls. Eventually, I struck two glass double doors and pushed my way past them and out into the cold Winter air.
Vampires were basically scentless, but they removed the scent of anything else everywhere they stepped. In theory, I could trace one if I concetrated on what I didn't smell.
Tracking the dam thing wasn't necessary. He was wandering around, bumbling around trees at a slow clumsy pace; it was all his short and stout body would allow from him. They expected for this sad, pathetic excuse to scare me? He was supposed to make me submt right now?
I didn't think so.
I let everything flow together; my wolf was submissive and she allowed for us to be one. With power freely channeling through me I felt the warmth spread, healing my weakened body, pulsing my body with enough fight.
Red filled my vision. Red, red, red. I twisted my neck, cracking it and smiling to myself. I was the hunter and he was the prey.
I launched myself into battle without a second thought, charging into the plump leech. I wasn't fully aware of what I was doing, but I knew my claws were cutting into flesh and that the coppery smell was the blood staining my clothing.
Stop fighting. I growled mentally and the funny thing is; he stopped. He stopped withering and trying to squirm away. Instead the vampire settled into a calm state where he ceased to struggle and looked me in the eyes softly blinking. For a vampire, he looked at peace.
Complete and utter peace.
As my fury faded I snapped the vampire neck, and continued to grip out his heart from his chest. His body was already cold; making me cringe against the cool slick feeling of his blood as I grasped the heart in my palm.
He was dead; not coming back.
I huffed, looking at pack members who met my eyes with either curiousity or fear. Sometimes you just have to lose yourself to find yourself and I was still finding myself.
So much for teaching them, my wolf snided.
Standing among fellow pack members was a tall, lean male wolf I didn't recognize but something about his round face hit home. He wasn't from either of my two packs; I could sense that much. I automatically assumed he was a threat.
I approached cautiously, and his eyes lit up with amusement. Do I attack? I didn't want put my guard down in case of him taking advantage of that -- you couldn't trust anyone nowadays.
"Who are you?" I spat at him demandingly. His lips curled into a half smile.
"Adrian," He said simply. His smile was a little too pretentious for my liking. I rolled my eyes at him, annoyed that he refused to fully address himself. Surely he should have sensed I came from great power.
"Adrian who?" This time I used my command on him.
He didn't respond. I blinked in utter confusion; there was literally no other wolf who could deny my Alpha Command and I had vowed now to compell other wolves.
"Tell me or get out," I snapped at his face. I was growing tired with this mysterious man showing up and playing games. There wasn't time for this. "So now tell me, who the fuck are you?"
I didn't even hear the words, but I saw them form from the movement of his lips, "Adrian of Argent."
Oh no.
*****
This chapter as intentionally very short. It was supposed to be fast paced and showing that Cora just kinda clicked together; wolf, humanity, vampire as one.
Do any of you remember who Adrian was/ when he was first mentioned?
This has also always been planned, mwahahaha!
Comment, vote, fan, you know the drill!
And now for Total Knock Out; I really hope you guys will give it a chance. I'm trying to make it on the What's Hot list:
"Relax, just take a ride on the wild side," was the last thing that left his mouth before he hastily gripped my waist and hoisted me onto the back of his bike. Without a warning, he pulled the throttle and we bolted into the night; streaming past all the city lights. This was Roman's idea of living life..
I hugged him closely, scared for my life on the back of his death machine; after all taking a ride on the 'wild side' was absolutely the last thing I wanted.
