Chapter Fifteen - Unedited, you've been warned!

It's been a nearly a month since Raphael had gotten down on to one knee and presented me with a sparkling ring. Since then, there has been surprisingly little trouble amongst all the rumored problems. I still haven't encountered a Hunter, and Jimmy had disappeared from my life, at least momentarily. Raphael was turning into a responsible, and most thoughtful Alpha since Algernon was still in a deep sound sleep. I honestly wondered if he was ever going to wake up; the clock was ticking.

The awkward air surrounding our relationship was slowly starting to fade into a comfortable silence. Raphael wasn't much of a talker, but he constantly was reminding me that he cared whether it was flowers, or candy, or even setting up an at home movie night. I, on the otherhand, was still working on managing affection. I've never really been an affectionate person.

Our wedding was planned to be tomorrow evening; Gianna and Meredith had ensured that all the preparations were in place for the big day. On top of things, my nineteenth birthday was a few days ago.  I wished desperately that my first heat wouldn't come to well after the wedding, but honestly, it could show up any day now.

My dress was far too princess-y for my style, but I wasn't going to deny the fact that I looked completely innocent and beautiful. The fluffy ballroom skirt made it incredibly hard to walk in, therefore I decided to just walk down the isle barefoot. The bustier part of my dress was tight and corset like, hugging my every curve.

I was sitting restlessly in the parlor of our home, flipping randomly through channels. The parlor was a rather hidden room in the house; surprisingly, it was the only seemingly used room in the entire house. It held a more comfortable and cozy feel than the rest of the cold dark house. I hadn't done anything in regards of trying to redecorate it, instead I sat and allowed all my feelings to settle in.

I was about to be a nineteen year old bride; it seemed a little brash and young to me, but as wolves, we naturally matued faster and then aged slower than humans. We were forever stuck in our most prime ages.

Even though I was a hybrid, I knew for a fact that I had aged thoughout the years, I hadn't stayed in my baby paws.

The strangest part about getting married tomorrow was the fact that neither of us had told the other we loved each other. I didn't think either of us entirely knew what was going to happen in our near future.

"Hi," Raphael's voice broke my thoughts. I cocked my head to get a glimpse at him. His hair was disheveled and swept all over the place. The dark circles were an undeniable sign that he was exhausted. There were a few scratch marks marring his perfectly tanned skin, and a tired grin stretched over his lips.

"How was training?" I asked simply, contemplating whether to stand and greet him properly or to continue casually sitting in the love seat.

"Long," He sighed, carefully approaching me. His blue eyes never left my gaze, and I noticed him take in my appearance. It wasn't anything impressive; only leggings and a loose v-neck topped off with a knit cardigan.

"How has your day been?" He asked in return. As he sat down, I felt his weight jostle the seat. The TV was playing a rerun of some television show involving "real life vampires". If only petty humans knew what an actual vampire was like; they'd be running for the mountains.

"Calm," I replied simply.

"You look exceptionally beautiful today," Raphael said, opening a palm for me. I placed my hand in his, and he squuexzed it tightly. The warmth of his hand always filled the void in my heart.

"And you look like you need some sleep," I commented with a smile to my voice. Raphael rolled those gorgeous blue eyes, and turned his gaze away from me.
