Riley's POV

Today's the day. Today's the day that the dancers will meet Brooklyn for the first time since she was born, which was a week ago.

I buckle my daughter in her car seat which is on the kitchen island. I grab her bag that I take along, full of diapers, bottles, blankets, socks, etc. I pull the blanket over the car seat so you can't see Brooklyn. I grab my work bag as well as Brooklyn's bag and go out to the car. James carries Brooklyn and puts her in the car and we drive off.

James stops and gets coffee for the two of us and we park in the studio's back lot. I open my car door and carry in the bags and James does the same with Brooklyn. I climb the stairs to the floor that the studio is located and unlock and open the heavy metal doors. James sets Brooklyn on the desk and checks to see if I need anything and walks out to unlock the other rehearsal rooms.

I take a peek at Brooklyn and see her sleeping and I definitely don't want to wake her. I wanted to get some work done because I know I won't get anything done today if I don't do it now.

A half an hour later Richelle is the first one who comes in. Well more like runs into studio A. "Riley! Can I see my future protégé?" She says excited. I let a little laugh because I never thought Richelle would be the one who is excited about a baby. Oh well.

"Sure Richelle. Let me get her." I say sweetly and pull off the blanket that is on the car seat and I unclip my baby and she stirs but nothing to serious to wake her up. I carefully hand her to Richelle and let Richelle sit in my chair.

"Hi little Brook, I'm your dance aunt Richelle." Richelle says to Brooklyn. "She's so tiny and babyish." She says. "I laugh at her comment and put papers away.

Some of the other dancers arrive but it's some of the boys who just see Brooklyn and don't have any desire to hold her.

When the girls arrived I had everyone from A-Troupe to J-Troupe in my office. It was cute how they all loved to hold Brooklyn. She started to cry when I left her with Sophia. I was talking to James when Sophia brought her over. "I think she's hungry or something." Sophia tells me and I grab Brooklyn from her and mix a bottle to feed her. The girls crowed around her while I gave Brooklyn her bottle.

Once she was done I set her in her car seat so she wouldn't spit up on any of the girls.
I told them they could hold her after practice and to get to work.

These next couple weeks went just like this, We bring Brooklyn to the studio and everyone holds and coo's over her and we had some of the old A-troupers over and Brooklyn meet her cousins for the first time last week.

Brooklyn was a typical newborn. She woke up 3 or more times at night and she cried and cried. Today is her doctor's appointment.

I signed in and went over to a chair. I set Brooklyn who is in her car seat by my feet till we could go into a room.

"Brooklyn Tordjman?" A nurse called. I stand up and give her a smile and she leads me to a exam room. "Dr. Bree will be with you shortly." The nurse says and leaves.

Bree comes in a few minutes later. "Riley, how are you?" She says giving me a hug. "I'm great." I smile. "And how's Brooklyn?" She asks. "I think she's well." I say. "Well lets look." She says.

I take Brooklyn out of the car seat and lay her down on the table. Bree does the examination and she said everything looked great except her weight. "Riley, Brooklyn should have put on more weight. Do you breastfeed her?" She asks. "Umm no." I answer. "Well you may want to because Brooklyn needs to have more weight on her." She explains. I nod my head and Bree and I discuss her sleeping schedule.
