Chapter 33 Worried

Riley's POV

January and February flew by so fast. Michelle had her baby girl yesterday and today I am going to visit her in the hospital. Olivia is at school and James is with one of his friends so it's just me. I grab a coat and my purse and head out.

I arrive at the hospital in 25 minutes and parked in the visitor parking. I called Eldon and he is meeting me in the lobby.

I walk into the all too familiar hospital and found Eldon waiting for me. "Hey Riley." He said giving me a hug. "Hey" I reply. He signaled to follow him and we started to make our way up to Michelle's room. "Michelle is excited to see you." He said. I just smile and Eldon and I catch up while we walk all over the hospital. "Ok here's her room." He said turning the door handle.

I follow Eldon into the quiet room and see Michelle focusing on a magazine. "Hey" I say as she looks up and smiles. "Riley!" She says happily. Eldon sits down on the spare couch in the room and I sit down on her bed. "Eldon, Can you go get the baby?" She asks and he nods leaving the room. "Where's baby?" I question. "The nursery." She replies. "Oh, How did everything go?" I ask. "Great" she replies.

We talk about her delivery until Eldon comes back. "Riley, meet Madison" Eldon says passing Madison to me. "She's so tiny" I say looking at the newborn. "Yea and her nickname is Maddie" Michelle says. "She looks so much like you, Michelle." I add. "I know, it's crazy." She says.

I was at the hospital till sunset talking to Michelle and Eldon and holding little Maddie. When I arrived back home James was busy teaching Olivia how to play the game pool. "Hey Riley, Your supper is in the fridge." Olivia tells me. "Thanks"  I grab my dinner out of the fridge and heat it up. After I was done eating I joined James and Olivia. James ended wining all of the rounds we played and bragged the entire time. Olivia went to bed before James and I but we ended staying up really late.

The next day I dropped Olivia off at school and went with James to a meeting for Olivia. We have one every month while she is staying with us.

We enter the office building and I sign in with the lady at the front desk.
James and I go into the office to see the agent. He greets us and tells us to sit down. "We have found a relative of Olivia's but She won't take Olivia till May." He tells us. "Can you tell us were the relative lives?" James asks. "In Vancouver BC." He tells us. "But that's so far. Doesn't she have anyone else that's close by?" I ask. He shakes his head. "I'm sorry but this is the only one who is willing to take Olivia." He says. "So When would Olivia leave?" I ask. "1st of May." He replies. "Oh ok." "Don't worry Mrs. Tordjman. Olivia will be in safe hands." The agent tells me. "Did you find her parents?" James asks. "Yes but the Father is in deep trouble with the law. The Mother is a different story. We haven't found her yet." He tells us. We continue discussing Olivia's departure and her relative till the agent had another meeting.

While driving back home I brought up Olivia. "When are we going to tell her?" I ask. "Tell who?" "Olivia, James." I say annoyed. "Whenever, but she won't be here for Regionals so it's best if we get someone to replace her sooner then later." He states. "Yea, It's sad she's leaving." I say looking out the window. "I know but she still has a few more weeks with us." He says trying to cheer me up. I sigh and our conversation ended there.

The rest of the day was peaceful. I got a lot of the paperwork done that I was behind on. I didn't mention anything to Olivia and neither did I mention it the next two days.

Olivia and I made a meal for Michelle so she didn't have to cook when she had a newborn to take care of. She came home yesterday and her mum is staying with her but I thought it would be nice to bring something when we go over there. "Olivia, grab that container and let's go" I tell her and walk out to the car. I place the food in the backseat and wait for Olivia. She places the food in the other seat and then we're on our way.
