As I move my arms the water rose and fell like an ocean tide. It took quite a bit of effort to et things moving but once the pipes burst I let it go and hopped onto my makeshift boat/ I started off slow but after a few moments of guiding the water the boat really got going.
"Yee-haw!!" I shouted as I the water splashed my face.
I surfed down the road at a speed that made my stomach drop. But that didn't bother me. As long as this road took me away rom pa I didn't care how nervous or wreckless it made me. Getting away from that man was the objective.
After some time passed I noticed some lights not too far ahead. I decided that my little water slide needed to stop. Letting the water slow down, I jumped off and began walking toward the light which was much brighter now. There was a building with various cars and motorcycles parked in front so I decided to go in, hoping that I wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb.
The first thing I noticed was that this place was very much a bar, border line a brothel. The women were scantily dressed, and the men had hungry looks in their eyes. I had half a mind to go back out on the street and keep walking, but I knew I had a better chance of escaping Pa, by making friends with someone in here. I took a seat at the bar, and twiddled my thumbs. When the bartender came over to get my drink I simply mumbled that I wanted a glass of water, and kept my eyes cast down to the counter.
"A glass of water?" he asked confused.
I nodded my head, knowing that I was out of place. He shoved the glass in front of me and I avoided his gaze knowing that it was judgmental. Slowly, I grabbed the glass and took a small sip. Surprisingly, I'd never tasted water quite so pure as what he'd given me, so I gulped it down and set the cup on the counter before taking a glance around the room. A girl standing at a table caught my eye. I almost got up to go speak to her, but a commotion started by the door.
It was Pa.
Shit.
I looked at the bartender and asked him for another glass of water. He huffed a little, but gave it to me.
Thanking him, I got up and walked in the opposite direction of Pa. There was a ladies' room just across the room and if I could escape there for just a few moments maybe I could pull a plan together. As soon as the door shut behind me I found myself running to the toilet with a strong urge to vomit.
"That man is going to kill me," I moaned. There was no escaping it. No loophole. He was gonna chase me down until he'd slit my throat and hung me in front of the police station, just to make a statement: Nothing stops him from getting what he wants. I turned on the water to wash up a little and looked at my reflection in the mirror. I was a complete mess. Hair obviously wind blown, black circles around blood shot eyes, shaky hands. This was not going to end well.
"What's wrong with you?" The girl from earlier was standing behind me. Her tone was unncessarily a little sharp.
"It's no concern of yours."
"Whatever. I saw you look at that man that walked through the door a moment ago. You turned ghost white and practically ran in here. Could here you vomiting from outside the door. I knew there was something up with you the second you walked in here," she said.
"Well, excuse me for having my own business. I don't know who you think you are, but your attitude stinks like a rat's ass," I snapped at her.
"Hmph. I know what I saw. And that man seemed pretty angry, and a little manic. You wanna get outta here, you're gonna need my help."
"What makes you think that I want or need your help?"
"We're in a bar full of no good, low down, drunk men with no lives. I've been working here for months, I know this. They find out that man wants you, they'll rape you and throw you to him like torn up rag doll."
