Dean kept laying at the corner, staring at the personnels who had surrounded Seth from all sides, checking on him until some of them started to vacate the place and two other referees were seen helping Seth stand up, holding his limp body in position. One of them was holding Seth by his waist, the other had Seth's arm lifelessly hanging around his neck so that Seth's body weight doesn't put any pressure on his knee.

"Why are you making him stand!? Are you out of your minds, his knee got hit by a hammer!" growled Dean as he sprang up, walking towards Seth and the two referees. If Seth hadn't sacrificed for Dean, Dean would've been the one to go through the terrible situation Seth was in now. So Dean was all the more concerned about Seth at that moment.

"He needs to be carried by a stretcher and for that we of course have to pick him up, Mr. Ambrose." said one of those referees, who seemed to be a little bit annoyed by Dean.

"Why make him walk towards the stretcher? You can always carry him and load him on it. Why don't you let him lay down until the stretcher arrives?" Dean argued.

"Ambrose, it's not even going to take a moment for the stretcher to arrive.. - "

"Drop him down, I said!"

The two referees, getting afraid of Dean's reaction, placed Seth down cautiously. The whole company knew Seth as an enemy of both Dean and Roman but all that was happening at that moment was very much unexpected and confusing. They acted like they were never parted from each other and still cared for each other as brothers.

As soon as the two referees vacated the area after placing Seth down, Dean started to get confused about what he must do next. He surely wanted to rush towards Seth, pick him up in his arms and try to soothe him until the stretcher arrives but still there was something that was holding him back from doing so. It was their rivalry of course.

He froze in his own position, watching Seth's weak body that lay before him, on the floor of the ring. Seth's face was devoid of any expression now as he was likely to pass out because of the pain and tiredness. His chest heaved hard as he was panting with his mouth open. Dean's legs twitched a bit, he wanted to go nearer to Seth but then he again started to wonder what made Seth sacrifice for him.

Dean then saw Seth's eyes drooping shut and got more scared. "Come on Seth. Don't give up that easy, man. Bear it for a moment and you'll be fine. Seth, open your damn eyes and don't give in. Keep fighting it until you reach the hospital." Dean screamed inside of his head.

A few officials soon arrived with a stretcher and some of them got into the ring in order to carry Seth out of the ring. Seth's eyes opened a little bit and the first thing he saw was Roman standing on the ring and behind the ropes, staring back at Seth extremely shocked. Seth tried to turn his head when the officials got nearer to him and yet saw another thing. Dean was standing almost a couple of feet away from him and was staring down at him. His face had a look of worry, sadness and fear. Dean had tears in his eyes as he stared right into Seth's eyes, as if speaking to him in a non verbal language, telling him everything would be fine.

As soon as Seth was carried out of the ring and was loaded onto a stretcher, Dean rolled down the ring and started telling the officials to be careful while they carry Seth to the ambulance. Roman on the other hand remained freezed in his position still shocked. He watched Dean as he was trying to help Seth his feet off and wondered whether Dean's feelings of hatred for Seth were really washed out from his brain. Roman wasn't actually confused as he thought Seth probably went through the same feeling that he himself had gone through when he beat up Brock twice, protecting Seth from him. But what made Roman all shocked was that he had never expected Seth to take such a big risk of getting his knee injured by the hammer, forgetting about his own career, which was at its best because he was the current WWE Champion. Roman felt silly for not being able to help Seth because they were on camera, unlike Dean who never cared about the people watching them or what they would speak of them.

Seth looked around while he was being carried by the stretcher. He couldn't move a single part of his body except his eyes, which he soon closed due to his tiredness. The pain was making his whole body numb. The expressions that both Dean and Roman had on their faces were something he couldn't erase from his head, especially the tears that were filling up inside Dean's eyes. He pictured them inside of his head for about a minute and fell asleep not so long after.

Roman and Dean made their way towards the backstage, following the officials who had Seth with them. They watched how Seth was loaded into the ambulance. The ambulance left immediately. Dean felt a bit relieved from the inside after the ambulance had left, as he thought Seth would now reach the hospital safely. The adrenaline stopped rushing in his body. He turned towards Roman and tears ran out of his eyes right then.

Roman rubbed Dean's arm soothingly and said, "Dean, calm down. Now that he's being taken to the hospital, everything will be fine."

"If he can't wrestle anymore, it'd be because of me." mumbled Dean, crying.

"Dean, don't blame yourself. When we're involved in a sport, accidents like this are bound to happen. So, stop thinking of negative things and have faith on him that he'll be back on his feet." said Roman. "Dean, let's go to the hospital. Now. Mm?"

"Yeah!" replied Dean quickly. "I'll get the car."

Dean walked out of the building whereas Roman took his vest off, grabbed his tee from the locker room and wore it, running out of the building. He quickly joined Dean and they headed off towards the hospital by Roman's car.

Roman and Dean sat inside the waiting room in silence after the doctor had explained them that Seth had a torn ACL and MCL, and a damaged meniscus. The only thing that relieved them was that Seth could go back to wrestling, but it would take him 9 months to recover. 9 months was a long hiatus but they still were glad that Seth would not have to give up wrestling.

"Why do you think he saved me?" Dean asked Roman, staring at the floor.

Roman let out a sigh before he spoke. "I was asking the same to myself when I saved Seth from Brock during the match and also at the backstage. I guess he went through the same feeling when he saw Kane coming to hit you with a hammer."

There was silence in the room again. "What if he starts blaming me for the long hiatus he's about to go through?" asked Dean. "When he wakes up, he'll be really sad on getting to know how bad his condition is. He was the current WWE champion, man."

"Hey, it's not your fault that he'll blame you." said Roman.

"He will, Roman, you don't understand. As I was not careful at that time, he'll blame me for his injury, he'll blame me for his title that'd be taken away from him, he'll blame me for everything he's about to go through now! Don't you know how much he hates me!?" cried Dean.

"If he really hated you that very much, he would never have risked his own life and his career, sacrificing for you." Roman silenced Dean. "Just wait until he wakes up and pray for his surgery to go well instead of speaking negative stuff."

As Dean was no longer able to reply to Roman's statement, he kept quiet and there was silence in the room again. They sat in the silence of the waiting room, up all night, with anxiousness growing in them. All that while, they watched people entering and leaving the room and wished if they were in Seth's room instead.

It was 4 AM finally when they found the same doctor who had spoke to them before, enter the waiting room. "That's Seth's doctor." said Roman nudging Dean's arm gently before they stood up from their seats.

"Mr. Ambrose and Mr. Reigns," said the doctor as he arrived. "I've a good news to give you."

Roman and Dean kept staring at the doctor anxiously until the doctor said, "The surgery has been successfully over. Everything went good. Couldn't have been better."

Roman and Dean released a sigh feeling extremely relieved from inside. "Does it mean we can go see him now?" asked Roman.

"Sure, you can see him now." replied the doctor.

Both Roman and Dean lowered their eyes. They didn't know if Seth would really like seeing them in his room, when he would wake up. "When is he waking up?" asked Dean and then looked up at the doctor's face.

"Within a few hours. He will have to rest for sure, as he has undergone an operation. But you can be at his room." smiled the doctor before he escorted Roman and Dean into Seth's room in the hospital.
