Later that night, Roman, Dean and Seth drove back to their apartment by Roman's car. As soon as they reached their flat, they started to make their sleeping arrangements for the night as they were too tired. Seth was made to sleep alone as he was sick and for that, Roman and Dean asked him to use the full bed. Seth lay down on his bed and stared at the ceiling thinking about the moment when he put his gold chain on Roman's neck. He then pictured in his mind how he had received the chain from his grandmother when he was 15.
***Flashback***
Seth spent the last minute of his stay at home with his 70 year old grandma in her room before he had left home in order to attend his new wrestling school in Brooklyn, NY and also board there for years. Seth stared at his grandma as she got up from her chair and bent her head down taking off the shiny gold chain she had been wearing for years. The chain had a platinum ring on it which never seemed to lose its lustre. The grandmother then looked into Seth's eyes for a while and then moved closer to Seth putting it around Seth's neck.
"Sonny," smiled the grandmother and stuttered before she spoke further. "This is something that your grandad had given me years ago while we got engaged to each other. Since then all I had wanted to do with it was to treasure it for the rest of my life. But I changed my mind as I want to pass it on to my next generation. Therefore, I give my most precious belonging to you, my boy. And now that you know how precious it is to me, don't just give it away to anyone but the love of your life, Seth. Be careful as you'll never know when people can be dishonest to you..."
Seth looked at the tears forming inside his grandmother's eyes and felt the same happen to him. "I won't, nana. I'll have it with me as long as I meet the one who'd be all mine." He then put his arms around his grandmother hugging her warmly.
***Flashback ends***
A smile spread around Seth's lips. His eyes drifted close and a drop of tear rolled down his eye. Meanwhile, Dean and Roman were in the other bedroom together and had not gone to bed yet. Roman sat on the bed unpacking a small cardboard box whereas Dean stood right beside him watching him. The box opened, there was a sweatshirt in grey and black stripes, a couple of undies and a cologne of a certain brand in it. "Wow," gasped Roman taking out the contents of the box. "Thanks, Dean. I love them!"
"Really? I thought you won't like the colour of the sweatshirt I chose for you," said Dean, scratching behind his head.
Roman got up at once and stood right in front of Dean, staring at his face. "Hey, man. Don't say that. I loved it."
"You make me blush, Rom..." blushed Dean and looked away. Roman held Dean by his chin making him turn towards him. He then leaned closer locking his lips with Dean's. Dean closed his eyes gently pushing in his lips kissing Roman back. They separated in a while, Dean stared into Roman's eyes and said, "Roman, you're always so good to me. Let's go to bed. I need to tell you something."
It was not long when the two went to bed. The bed was big enough for them fit in. They were cozy under a single large cover. Roman's heart beat hard against his chest as they hadn't been able to sleep together on a bed since a long while. "So," said Roman softly. "What do you want to tell me?"
Dean looked as if he felt down at that moment. He dragged himself closer to Roman's body before he started. "Have your parents ever talked to you about getting married?" asked Dean.
"Yes, they always do," sighed Roman. "My dad never bothered me but I've heard him talk to my mom about getting me married to a Samoan girl. Ugh! The hell with it... And what about you? Do your parents talk to each other about getting you married?"
"No! They don't but... my mom keeps on looking for girls who I can get married to and that just annoys me. But she has no idea I'm already in a relationship. What if she freaks out at me when she comes to know you and I are dating? She has to know it one day, right?"
"Look Dean," said Roman in his deep soothing voice. "She may freak out at you for days, for weeks, or for months but not forever! You're not just her nephew, you're her son. She has to accept what your decision is. Moreover, you've already made her proud." Roman then, put his arm around Dean scooping him close to himself. "I'm damn sure my parents would freak out at me as well. But that's how we would fight our bad times together."
Dean cozied into Roman's chest and said, "I know you'll always be here for me, Ro."
"I promise you," Roman whispered into Dean ear, leaning close to him.
The next day's event was scheduled at Philadelphia itself. Seth remained in their flat all by himself when Roman and Dean were away at the event. It was 8:00 PM when Roman and Dean were at the backstage all dressed, waiting for their event. As Dean got busy texting Seth on his phone, he sat down on a chair nearby. "If I were gay, would you have accepted me for what I would be?" said Seth's last text.
"Why not? Aren't gays humans?" Dean quickly typed up his reply and hit the send option. He ran his fingers through his hair wondering what Seth was up to and another message popped up in his phone. It was from Seth and it said, "It's about time I must let you know this, Dean... I'm gay."
Dean stared at the text reading it again and again. He took a deep breath before he started typing his reply. "Yes, gays are humans too but they are to be taken seriously. Its not something you can assume yourself to be, OK!? I can't believe you unless you look me in the eye and tell me you're gay." Dean sent the message. He then got his eyes off his phone and looked up looking at Roman who was walking about the room they were in. "Roman, why don't you sit down?" asked Dean.
"Keep sitting, Dean. I'm fine," replied Roman. Before Dean could speak further, he got Seth's reply on his phone. He quickly checked his phone and opened the message. His eyes widened to their fullest as he froze in his position, staring at the message he had got from Seth. He wished what he was seeing to be something unreal but it was not possible. The text was right in front of his eyes. "I'm even ready to do that, Dean. I... am gay. And, I like Roman."
Dean felt like his brain had stopped working. He couldn't believe a guy who he had been knowing well since 3 years was claiming himself to be gay and also that he liked Roman. Dean finally tried to move and change his position, but he fell down the chair in no time. Roman came running towards him in order to check on him. "Dean! Are you okay!? What happened? Is there a bad news? Gimme your phone,"
Dean quickly tossed his phone into his pocket before he stood up. "I'm fine, Ro. I'm okay!" said Dean.
"What's the matter? I noticed your expression was not so good while you used your phone," said Roman.
"I... I just happened to fall down, okay! It's not really a bad news. I just had a quarrel with my mom." said Dean. He didn't know why he was keeping it from Roman when he was supposed to tell him what the problem was. Maybe, he sensed things would get complicated within them if he told him.
