I let out a nervous chuckle as I looked up to the ceiling. "Wow, I um, I definitely have to think about that. I would love that but I'm not sure what my parents are going to say.." I sighed and looked up to him with a loving gaze but uncertain eyes. "You're so generous."
"Thank you but, see what they think and what you think about the idea. I could arrange an apartment here in the city if you need to remain close to home," he said in the gentlest voice. "Oh you.." I arched my eyebrow and giggled. "Okay," I clapped my hands and pointed at the paper bags. "Food?" David chuckled and nodded as he motioned to the microwave. "I'm heating it up. It got cold on the ride here." He placed the plate inside the microwave above his stove in his small kitchenette. David waited for one plate of food then the other before setting them down on the counter to put the ice cream in the freezer. He then grabbed the utensils and food. "Let's go to the couch."
"Alright." I smiled and moved to the couch to settle myself in the gap between the couch and a large, leather lounge chair. David had set the plates down on the coffee table before turning to me. "May I help you onto the couch?"
"Oh yeah, sure. I have a question." As he leaned down to place his arms under me, he smiled and tilted his head. "What is the question?" I wrap my arms around his neck as I purse my lips. "Are we a thing now?"
"I think we are. Since we're dating it makes sense to be." He sniggered quietly before sitting down with me in his lap. "Are you okay with this?" Tilting his head, he was concerned with the status of us rather than the position I had on his lap. "Yes, totally." I giggled and rested my head on his shoulder. "You are very sweet, you know that?" I said softly before kissing his cheek. "I try," he replied before giggling and kissing my forehead. He carefully leaned forward to grab our plates and the TV remote before turning it on and flipping through the channels. I held onto my plate while leaning against his shoulder. While taking a small amount of the shepherd's pie on my fork, I looked at the television and my eyes wandered off to the view behind it. "I've never seen my city from this high. It's just.... wow." I take a bite and swallow it with a smile. "It certainly is a lovely sight," he whispered in my ear. I turned to face him and tipped his chin towards me. "And so are you," I said before he could have the chance to say it to me, his shock and surprise was shown as his lips were parted ever so slightly as though he were going to say something.
I smiled before gently kissing him while on the edge of crying again. Not believing it was true, it was all too wonderful. David put his plate down before gently holding the back of my head to deepen the kiss and pull away only slightly. "You're very pretty. Has anyone told you that?" He paused before shaking his head and giving a boyish grin. "Doesn't matter because I'm saying it."
"Your words count twice as more to me than when others say it, and no no one told me other than my mother. You are very pretty too, David," I whispered as I rubbed my fingers over his skin. David smiled and closed his eyes. "Thank you but, you're the pretty one," he said and before I could protest he kissed me again. I leaned back a bit to settle my plate down with our lips still connected. As my hands cupped his cheeks, I smiled and sucked gently onto his bottom lip as I looked into his eyes. I let go and kissed the corners of his mouth slowly. His hands wandered over my body while he slowly turned to press me onto my back. Tenderly kissing over the cut on my lip, he continued to look into my eyes occasionally as his lids fluttered.
I wrapped my arms around him as he pressed my back into the cushions and I closed my eyes and leaned back to catch my breath. "W..What are you doing?" I whispered as I ran my hands up and down his upper arms. "Just getting comfortable," he mumbled while turning to lie down beside me and carefully position his leg underneath my side to hold me to his frame. "I really appreciate what you're doing." I buried my head in his chest. "I'm sorry, my appetite is gone for some reason. May I take that bath now?" I looked up at him and smiled softly. "Yes," he whispered while smiling. He cleared his throat before shifting to carefully move out from underneath and around me. David stood from the couch and carried me in his arms to the large bathroom, complete with an enormous white claw foot tub. "Is this to your liking?" He asked before kissing the side of my head. "As long as there is a bath tub, I'm happy." I giggled softly and caressed his cheekbone. "You have to help me though."
"I can definitely do that. What can I do?" He set me down slowly on top of the toilet before walking over to turn the water on. He put his wrist under the water to gauge the temperature and make sure it wasn't scalding. Then he turned to look at me as he plugged the tub for the water to fill. "With taking my clothes off." I said awkwardly and looked down. "Only the lower part of my body.." I bit my lip as I looked up at him.
