(This is part 3, the final of a multiple chapter story. I you haven't read those, I recommend going back and doing so before reading this one! - R)
"This is it.." David said as he held your shoulder to stop you. You looked up to see the apartment building. He grabbed his keys and walked up the steps to open the door to the small open hall. "Let's place your big in here so no one takes it, I had mine stolen a few weeks back." He shrugged before taking your bike and picking it up and carried it inside. You watched him as you walked in behind him. "That's unfortunate." "Oh please, it was a scrawny old and rusty bike, I'm lucky it held up for the 4 months I've had it." David said with a wave of his hand before guiding you to the elevator.
Stepping out of the elevator on the 4th floor you had a view over the town. "I can almost see my place from here." You said as you stopped and looked before spotting it and pointing with a chuckle. "Really now?" David said as he tried to guess in the direction you were pointing in. "Big oak tree?" He asked as he looked at you from the side with a soft smile, resting his arms on the ledge. You shook your head and leant closer to him. "No, see the treehouse? it's on the right of it." "Aha, there.." David said before turning his head to look at your precious expression. you watched his gaze and quickly lowered your arm, not wanting him to think you were too childish. He chuckled when he noticed and nodded to the door. "Coming?" he said before standing straight again and turning to the door to open it.
You looked around with sparks in your eyes as he guided you into the livingroom, his place was perfectly balances between organised and messy. you put your tote on the table as David walked into the kitchen. "A drink? I'm afraid I only have water, tea or.." he paused as he leant down to look into the fridge. "root beer?" You nodded and before you knew it you had a can coming your way, you catched it and smiled. "Thanks." David closed the fridge and took a can for himself. He walked to the couch and sat down, you followed as you opened your drink before taking a sip. he fished the cassette out his pocket and flung it onto the coffee table which had a colourful, seemingly hand knit, table cloth on it. "I'm still quite shocked you had to find out I made music this way, I guess we had to ask each other about our hobbies at some point." He chuckled as he was pulling a cassette deck from under the table. "Come on, you can't be embarrassed for doing something like this?" You said as you tapped the cassette with your fingers, smiling brightly, only to see him blush lightly and hide behind his long hair.
"It's not that good.." David responds before pulling another cassette from the box on the table. "Liar.." You chuckled and playfully pushed his shoulder. David grinned before putting in a different cassette. "I also have this, i only have the demo from a year back so this will come in handy." He said as he grabbed a guitar from beside the couch. You took a sip as you just couldn't tear your eyes away from him. "And you play? Is there something you can not do?" You asked and put your drink down on the table as the tape recording started to play and David played along on his guitar "Oh this one's called Space Oddity, it's one of the first ones i wrote and actually liked." David said quickly as he looked over to you with a soft smile before focussing on his guitar.
David began singing as the song continued and you couldn't help but feeling yourself slowly falling deeper and deeper in love with him.
