Chapter 43

Kate's pov
Two weeks later
Two weeks.
It's been two weeks and calum has not even tried to reach out to me, or see if I am okay. Well spoiler alert calum, I'm not.
Tissues scattered the floor in my room and water bottles took up most of the place on my dresser. I was truly a mess. The ends of my hair by now were a faded pink color, no where near as bright and vibrant as it use to be. I let out a sigh as I stare at the clock directly in front of me.
He's back Kate.
  Thats the worse part about this whole entire situation. Chris is back, and he ruined another one of my relationships.
Kate you need to leave.
I do need to leave. Who knows what chris will do now that he knows I'm back and even more vulnerable.
I get off of my bed and quickly rummage around my room. I find a black backpack and begin to throw clothes and other essentials into it. My eyes release tears as I grab a pen and paper. I can't just disappear with no explanation, I have a family.
Dear whoever is reading this,
I need to leave for a little while. I'm sorry for causing you trouble but if I stayed lord knows what would happen. I love you guys. I'll be back soon

I leave my shïtty letter on my desk before I make my way out of the house. I check quickly to make sure no one is home in the Hemmings house before climbing out of the window.
I don't even look back before I start to run down the street.
Chris can't find me. I won't let him ruin me again.

Two weeks.
It's been two weeks since I moaned out my true loves name during an intimate moment with my wife.
Two weeks
Two weeks since I've seen Annabelle. After the incident she packed a bag and left.
I don't regret it at all
Ever since she left I feel some sort of relief. I don't feel like I have to put on a mask, or pretend anymore.
But sadly Annabelle leaving does not fix the pain in my chest every time I hear Kate's name.  She's been on my mind ever since the school year started.
You love her.
  I love her so much. I messed up big time and I'm not sure if I can fix it anymore.
You broke her.
  No calum broke her. He changed my sweet little baby girl. She's been smoking lately and her beautiful blonde hair has been tainted by her pink tips.
You need her.
I can't function without her.

Empty and broken beer bottles covered my master bedroom floor, making it dangerous to walk on. Light shined through the window that is across from Kate's making my heart sink. 
I carefully walk towards the window and see that no one is home. No cars in the driveway at least.
Maybe she's home alone. Now is your chance. Go talk to her.
  I didn't even go to the bathroom before I bolted down the stairs. Before I could open the door, the sound of a soft knock echoed through the house.
  The door slowly opens to relieve a very stressed out skylar. Her cheeks were red and tear stained, you could tell something has happened.
"K-Kate ran away"
