Flynn
As soon as Adelaide stepped through those doors, a bad feeling overcame me. My wolf was clawing at the insides, telling me to go inside and keep her safe. I shook my head a little, dispelling his concerns.
I'm sure she's fine, stop worrying.
No, you need to listen to me. Something's up and Adelaide may be in danger.
Okay okay, I'll go check on her.
I took one step towards the door, before being bombarded with questions from a group of visiting pack members. I discussed their living arrangements with them, and explained the layout of the pack house to them before swiftly dismissing them and moving towards the door. I had become more and more uneasy as the conversation drew on, and I needed to see Adelaide.
Rushing towards the front door, I turned the knob but it wouldn't open. I turned it yet again but had the same result. Grunting, I shoved my shoulder against the door as hard as I could, but it wouldn't budge. Panicking, I yelled at some of the men still milling around the front lawn by their cars to come help me.
Four men were placed around me, and we all tried to shove our way inside. The door remained the same, no dents or cracks from five grown, male werewolves.
My heart was beating so fast I thought it might burst out of my chest. My breathing had become erratic as I realized Adelaide was trapped inside and there was nothing I could do. I was desperate to get to her, an ache had set deep in my chest and I rubbed it absently.
The twins sprinted towards me, with Julian hot on their trail.
"What's happening? Where's Adelaide?" Julian asked, out of breath from the run they were just on.
"She's stuck in there, the door won't budge. I can't get in there to save her and I don't even know who she's stuck in there with." I said, gripping my hair tightly, almost hyperventilating. We were just talking about our future, we were going to move into our own house, have children, grow old.
I will not have that ripped away from me. I growled low in my throat and shook off all the negative emotions shooting from me. I took a deep breath and calmed myself before opening my eyes once more.
"It's magic. That's what's keeping everyone inside, and us out." Charlie said, pointing to the windows. Clear as day, there was a soft iridescent shine covering the panes. Had I not panicked before, I would have seen them.
Get your shit together Flynn
"Where's Ezra?" I demanded, looking around the grounds.
"I just mind linked Sam to bring him." Jamison stepped up and said, nodding at me. I was still extremely pissed at how he treated my mate, but I'm glad he was helping. I nodded back, before turning back to the windows.
"This was Marshall." Charlie said, staring intently at the pack house.
"What makes you so sure?" I said, trying to think of any other people who would want to keep me from Adelaide.
Charlie scoffed and shook his head.
"It's pretty obvious don't you think?" He said. I growled lowly at him, pissed at his disrespectful tone.
"That won't work on me, I'm not a member of your pack. Can you think of anyone else who would have a reason to keep Adelaide all to himself?" He asked.
I shook my head and sighed, getting annoyed that Ezra still wasn't here.
"Are they getting close?" I asked Jamison. He shrugged.
