Adelaide
What in the hell is she doing here? And calling my mate babe?
I let out an uncontrollable growl, Lila pushing to the surface. Claire merely shrugged, and took the steps downstairs. I raised an eyebrow in disbelief. She was just going to shrug?
I made a step forward, and was going to shove my foot straight up her ass, when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked back to see Julian staring at Claire in awe. His eyes were stuck to her body like glue, admiration clear in their blue depths. I stood still, completely shocked.
This can't be happening.
"Mate." Julian whispered, his claws digging into my shoulder. I held in a wince, they were deep enough to draw blood. Claire stopped dead in her tracks, her head raised in the air to smell her mates scent. She stilled, when she took in Julians scent.
But as soon as she looked down, and saw Julian, she gasped in surprise. Her lips parted and I could barely hear the word "mate" leaving her mouth. Julian rushed towards her, retracting his claws from my now bleeding shoulder. The cuts instantly healed, and I rolled my shoulder a few times.
"What happened?" Flynn asked from my side, his hand going towards the ripped part of my shirt. I stiffened as soon as he touched me, still unbelievably pissed about what happened in the car, and the entire Claire situation. He dropped his hand, his hurt expression making me even more mad. He had no right to be hurt in this scenario.
"Why did she call you babe, Flynn?" I asked, seething. The question caught Julians attention, and he snapped his head in our direction upon hearing it. His eyes were almost black, the possessiveness over his mate kicking in.
Flynn stood still, and looked at me with regretful eyes. He sighed, looked behind me, and nodded. I was about to turn around, when I felt a pinprick in the side of my neck. My eyes widened, and I went straight as a board. The screams coming from Boone were muffled due to the drugs, and I saw Flynns beta holding Julian down, who was struggling to get to me.
I stared at Flynn, my hand covering the part of my neck where the needle had entered. My vision became blurry, and my ears refused to work. My mouth became numb, I couldn't speak or swallow, my tongue seeming like a cotton ball in my mouth.
The betrayal sunk deep into my heart, knocking the breath out of my lungs. I could barely stand, but the only thing that bothered me was that my supposed mate had yanked the remaining trust I had for him out of my hands, and threw it to the ground. It had shattered into a million tiny pieces, along with my heart.
My knees buckled, and I went down on the floor. Flynn reached for me, but I used my remaining strength to bring my arm up, and claw him in the face. I may be drugged, but there was no way in hell I was letting him touch me again.
My body hit the cold floor, and I saw Boone reaching for me before my world faded into nothing.

My body refused to move.
My wrists were tied down to a small chair, that I knew was made of wood, seeing as I had a splinter in my god damn ass that wouldn't move. My chin was resting on my chest, my long, dark hair creating a curtain around me, so I wouldn't have to face the reality that has become my life. I knew I was in the basement, the only question is, why?
I heard movement to my right, and then a key sliding into the lock of my cell. By now, the feeling was spreading back into my body from the tips of my fingers, all the way down to my toes. I held my breath, hoping that the person who entered the room would leave. I hoped that the delicious smell of peppermint would leave with him.
