I know you guys are probably getting tired of my song one shots but I love them soooo 😂
He felt the butterflies come alive in his stomach, something he hasn't experienced since she'd left.
Her brown hair blew in the wind, and her mocha eyes dazzled, her smile could make the whole world stop a stare.
He smiled, and began to walk over to her but found himself at a stop.
A man a little taller than him appeared next to Spencer. He had mocha eyes that matched Spencer's and dark brown short hair. She smiled up to him and pecked him on the lips. The butterflies suddenly stopped. He had felt as every good thing on this earth had suddenly vanished.
The woman he was still deeply in love with had another person to love, and it hurt, it hurt like hell.

"Hey em," he said as he forced a smile on his face. Emily approached him open arms and brought him into her embrace.
"Toby! I've missed you, how've you been?" She said as he sat down in a love seat next to Emily.
"I've been okay, I saw Spencer today..."
"And?"
"Why didn't you tell me she had a boyfriend?"
"I didn't want to hurt you, I know how horribly you took the breakup, I just couldn't do that to you."
"How long have they...."
"A year and a half.....he proposed this to her summer. Their getting married May." She said quietly.
His stomach dropped. His throat tightened up and he felt like if he said anything at all he would vomit.
"Toby? You ok?" Emily asked worried about a minute after she had told him the big news.
"For a second, I thought I had a chance." He whispered, his voice barely audible.
"I'm sorry Tobes." Emily said, as she took a quick sip her mocha. "Look, I gotta go meet Alison, But I want you to go find her, and if you can't text her, I'll give you her new number. you need to talk to her, it's been five years Toby. She misses you. You miss her. And I know you don't want to hear this, but she found a way to get over you, you can too, okay?" She said rising from the love seat, kissed his forehead, scribbled Spencer's new number on Toby's coffee cup, and left the brew.

He took his hand up to the wooden door that belonged to the Hastings home. He was scared to knock, he was scared of what Spencer would think when she saw him. Would she ignore him, and just be all happy sappy with her Fiancé, or would she actually be happy to see him.
Toby didn't know, he was scared too, but at the same time, ready.
Emily was right, it had been too long. So he finally took some courage and knocked.
Someone walked quickly to the door and unlocked a few locks.
Veronica's face stood their looking perky as ever.
"Toby? It's been forever," she said taking him into a hug. The Hastings were very nice when it came to the big break up. Because Spencer was all the way in England for college, and Toby was still stuck in rosewood, born Veronica and Peter checked on Toby at least once a week to see if he was okay. "Here come in." She said moving out of the way to let Toby through the doorway.
He walked in and was greeted by another friendly face. Peter.
At first, the two didn't get along, at all. But they had slowly moved passed their differences and acknowledged both had loved Spencer as much as the other, and they learned to accept that.

Toby took another sip of his coffee as he listed to Veronica rant about Spencer's fiancé.From what he'd gathered. Veronica would rather "go to hell and back, five times" then go to a wedding with him being the groom.
As the three chattered the door swung open. In came Spencer, holding bags from a variety of stores such as Kirklands and Victoria's Secret.
Her mouth nearly dropped when she saw him. She quickly set her bags down and ran into his arms.
The familiar vanilla coffee sent brought him home.
Someone from the distance awkwardly cleared their throat.
Spencer quickly unwrapped her small arms around Toby's large frame and spun around.
Toby saw the same man he saw with Spencer hours earlier.
"You must be Spencer's fiancé," Peter made a sour face. Toby slowly walked up too the man the Spencer would be marrying.
"I'm Patrick, and yes, I am marrying her." He said with a bit of an attitude "we need to go Spence. We have a date, remember?"
"Oh yeah, let's go. I'll unpack this all later." She said sliding her scarf back around her neck.
The two were quickly out the door, but only seconds later Spencer's head popped back in.
"How about dinner tomorrow night? Just me and you. We need to catch up."
A grin appeared on his face "I'd love that."
She giggled and quickly left the property, walking hand in hand with Patrick.
••••
"So Toby..." Patrick began as the two sat down. Spencer let out a sigh. She knew right when she saw Toby this was gonna happen.
"What about him?" She asked, pretending to look interested at the menu below her.
"How long has it been?"
"Has what been?"
"When did you guys hook up last? We're we together?"
Spencer's eyes bulged out of her head.
"I haven't seen Toby in five years, Patrick," she said between gritted teeth "besides, I'm not that kind of girl. You should know this, I mean, you are my fiancée after all."
•••••
"Spencer? Toby?" Pam Fields greeted as the two walked into the brew."Miss.Fields, hi, how are you?" Spencer said hugging Pam.
"I'm okay, how are you? I see you too are back together, that's exciting! Your gonna be a bride!" Spencer looked at her in confusion, but then realized she did have a engagement ring on her finger, and by the looks of it, it did look like the two were to be married. Spencer and Toby both shared a glance.
"Umm, no, actually, were not, Were just going out to lunch, as friends." Spencer cleared.
"Oh," Pam said. A look of disappointment spread across her face "well I'll see you two later?"
"Yeah of course." Spencer said, showing a friendly grin as Pam left the grill.

Her smooth, pink lips feel against his more rough ones. Nothing had ever felt more right than this did.
"Spence," Toby said pulling away from her "this...this isn't right, your engaged."
"I may be engaged, but who said I'm happy," Tears formed in her eyes "Please, Toby, I need this, I need you."
He gave her a small nod. She quickly dove back into another kiss.

Morning sun flooded into the small room. The smell of Spencer's Daisy perfume captivated his nose.
He rolled and slung his arm over, but it went flying back down into the cushy mattresses.
A small note was left on the bedside table.
Toby,
As lovely and memorable last night was, I sadly have to inform you it was a mistake. I regret cheating on my fiancé, of whom I do love. I hope you can understand, I do love you. I just know we can't ever have what we did in our high school years
I wish the very best for you. Find a beautiful girl that will make you happy, you deserve that great big beautiful love. More than anyone else I know.Much love,
Spencer
