Spencer took a shallow breath as she walked into her kitchen with the set of keys dangling from her fingers. Right before her eye's was a hooded figure facing the opposite of Spencer.
Lightning flashed, illuminating the room, revealing the pair of jeans she had saw Toby wear earlier that day. Her heart sunk deep into her stomach.
"Is this what your looking for?" She asked weakly, tossing the keys on the countertop next to her.
Toby turned around to where he was facing her, his face stone cold.
Spencer felt sick, but swallowed her emotions down, terrified to show any emotions.
He walked toward her, looking down into mocha eye's.
"Spencer..." He whispered, wanting to explain everything, but only receiving a cold slap across the face. He deserved it.
Her eyes told it all, every little thing.
"How long have you known?" Toby asked trying his hardest not spill it all.
She looked down and held out a ID badge for Radley sanitarium, where Mona and his mother were treated. She quickly swiped her hand away as he grabbed for the badge he was too familiar with.
They stood in complete silence, not knowing what to say.
In the distance, the front door swung open as Veronica, Spencer's mother, entered the house.
Spencer looked up at Toby one last time, then flipped around.
"Spencer?" Veronica yelled, assuming she had already left for her and Toby's first anniversary.
As she turned back to the man who deceived her, she saw that the room was completely empty. Sobs racked through her body.
"Hi Honey." Spencer mom said walking into the kitchen, surprised her daughter was still home.
When she looked up, she saw her youngest heartbroken.
"Is everything okay? What is it honey?" She said walking towards Spencer.
"Mommy..." Spencer cried, breaking down in her mother's arms.
"Shh..." she said not quite sure what was happening. She lead Spencer to the couch, and sat in front of her.
"What happened, honey." She said once Spencer had calmed down.
"When I got to the brew, I noticed his car already parked on the back. I assumed he just got home early. But when I got up to his loft..." she began sobbing yet again "I walked in and saw him and some girl, naked on his couch having sex...I-I just left not sure what to do...I got back and it hit me. I couldn't move...couldn't breath." She lied.
"Oh, Spence." Her mother breathed bringing her into her arms.
Why me? Spencer pondered Why?
