"Yah, yah, yah, listen to me," Jiwoo said.

Jiwoo, Jimin, Jungkook, and I hung out at the library. Jiwoo called us all to gather around in this place because she said there was something important that she wanted to say.

"What's the important news, sunbae?" Jungkook asked.

"Do you know what's going to happen on December 20th?"

"Ah, I know where this is going," Jimin said, while Jungkook and I were dumbfounded.

"On December 20th," Jiwoo continued, "Dahyun is turning 22!"

I widened my eyes. "Oh, really? It's Dahyun's birthday?"

"Yup," she said as she nodded.

"Oh, this is going to be fun!" Jungkook said.

"What are we going to do for her birthday?"

"I'm thinking about giving her a surprise, but I'm still not sure if it will go well," she said, "Dahyun tends to get suspicious and eventually finds out."

"Why not a birthday party?" Jungkook asked.

"Dahyun doesn't really like parties," Jimin replied, "we can give her a simple birthday party though. Like, give her a birthday cake and just simply sing a birthday song."

"Taehyung ah, you've got an idea?" Jiwoo asked me.

"Not completely an idea, but I actually agree with giving her a surprise," I replied. "Jungkook, Jimin, and I are going to prepare for her birthday, and you'll distract her so she won't find out the surprise."

"Dahyun is incredibly smart though," Jimin said, "I'm not sure if Jiwoo is able to distract her enough to prevent her from knowing the surprise."

"Last year, our surprise plan failed because Jimin was stupid enough to singing a birthday song in front her a day before her birthday."

"Yah, I loved singing birthday songs, I couldn't help it."

"Dahyun sunbae daebak," Jungkook innocently said.

I didn't talk much at this time as I kept sighing all day. The fact that Dahyun still ignored me made me missed her so bad. What happened to her?

Jungkook seemed to notice my quietness. "Hyung, you're okay?"

"Yeah, sure."

"What's bothering you?"

I sighed. "The fact that Dahyun ignores me for no reason."

Jimin seemed to also notice it. He approached me and said, "Follow me." I followed Jimin exiting the library.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"You're worried about Dahyun, aren't you?"

I sighed once again. "Of course."

He slightly smiled as he put his hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry too much. She's okay now."

"What do you mean?"

"Dahyun is currently dealing with her personal issues. It quite gives her the pressure, but don't worry, she can handle it."

"Jimin ah," I said, "can I ask you something?"

"Sure, what is it?"

"How much does her past story traumatize Dahyun?" I asked as I lower my voice. "Was it that bad?"

Jimin sighed as he rubbed his back neck. "I can't tell you the story, but yeah, it was... bad. She was already dealing with her family problem, then another incident happened. I felt bad for her honestly."

"But why is she ignoring me? Did I do something wrong?"

He shaked his head. "No, you didn't do something wrong, I mean it. Dahyun is the type of person who shut people out whenever she's dealing with a problem. So don't take it seriously, try to understand her feelings."

I looked at the ground as I sighed. "Is she really okay now?"

"Not completely okay, but she's feeling better now," he replied. "I already gave her a speech full of motivation words."

"I want to meet her so bad," I whined. "The fact that she's kind of ignoring me and I haven't talked to her for weeks is killing me, seriously."

"You can go talk to her if you want to."

"But what if she doesn't want to talk to me?"

He smiled. "She will. Trust me."

I messed up my hair out of frustration. "Maybe giving her some time to be alone is a better idea than making her to talk when she actually doesn't want to."

He patted my shoulder. "Dahyun really deserves you, Taehyung."

I slightly smiled. "I won't force her to like me though. If she doesn't have feelings for me, then it's okay, as long as she's happy," I said. "I'll be going now."

I left Jimin and walked around the school while putting both of my hands inside my pocket. I had never realized that the scent of Yeol-Woo smelled really nice, though the wind made me cold. The memories of my family suddenly came into my mind. Appa, eomma, and my hyungs.

Eomma, I miss you.

I knew that I already had another mom, but... it felt different. My real eomma was full of love and I loved how warm her hugs were. My stepmom was actually nice too, but I didn't feel the warmt from her.

Eomma, where did you go?

As I was walking, I didn't realize that my feets led me to the place where she had always been, the edge of the river.

There, I saw her sitting by herself. She just kept looking at the flowing river, but something made my heart ached.

Dahyun was crying. Tears kept flowing down from both of her eyes. Even from across the river, I could see the pain in her eyes. What actually happened in her past?

Oh, how I wished to go to her and pull her into my arms. How I wished I could say that I would always be there for her, and say that I loved her.
