A New Day [Hamilton AU]

Chapter 1

Alexander moves to Pennsylvania right before starting his junior year. He is living in a foster home with two very nice people who have taken him in. He is very grateful for them and for how caring and nice they are towards him. He lives in this foster home for his two remaining years in highschool.

Graduation is soon creeping up and Alex needs to find a college to enroll at. He searches for schools nearby, but none of them interested him, except for one school; Kings College.

Alex decides to take a tour of the school before making his decision on enrolling.

*Alexander POV*

My foster parents were driving me to New York to take a tour of the school I wanted to go to. It was very kind of them to drive me. I was really excited to get to the school. I really liked this place and it seemed to be in a safe enough area to live in.

We arrived at the school and my foster parents asked if I wanted them to come with me. I said that didn't have to if they didn't want to. They decided they wanted to check it out for themselves, so they tagged along.

We got on campus and it was a very pretty campus. I was a little shocked as to how nice it looked. We walked around for a bit, and they decided they were going to get lunch somewhere off campus, and to let me have a little bit of independence.

I was wandering around when I passed a fountain and I stared at it. I didn't realize I kept walking and I bumped into a young girl.

"Oh god, I'm so sorry! I didn't realize I zoned out. Are you okay?" I said as I picked up the purse that I knocked out of her hands.

She smiled sweetly and said, " It's okay! I'm fine. Its my fault, I wasn't watching where I was walking".

She was a very attractive young girl wearing a nice blue top, gray jeans, and dark blue converse.
She looked at me and said "I haven't seen you around before, are you here on the tour?"
I replied to her, "Yes, I'm not from around here. I was interested in this school and decided to take a tour before making any decisions"

She looked at me with excitement and said "This school is awesome! My sisters and I are enrolling next year and so are a few of of friends", she paused for a moment, looked at her phone and said, "Hey, I'm meeting up with my sisters and a friend for lunch. Would you like to join us?"

I checked the time and agreed to come along. It might be nice to get to know some people so if I do enroll, I would be alone. She smiled and motioned for me to follow her to where we were meeting up. "My name is Elizabeth Schuyler, its a pleasure to meet you. You are?"

"Oh! My name is Alexander Hamilton, but you can just call me Alex"

"Well Alex, welcome to Kings College. I hope you decide to enroll here. We would be happy to have you here"

We got to a cafe and we walked inside. Instantly I saw two girls and a guy sitting together, their heads raised as we entered. Eliza sat down at their table and she said to them "This is Alex. I bumped into him on the way here. Do you guys mind if he sits with us?"

One girl with a dark pink shirt stood up and said "Of course not! You will always be welcome to sit with us. Here, sit in my seat." We both sat down and Eliza said "Alex, this is Peggy," she motioned towards the girl sitting next to me. She was wearing a yellow shirt with a few flowers on it. Peggy smiled and said hello to me. "And then this is John Laurens" John looked at me and smiled, and said hello as well. The first thing I noticed about him was his eyes. They were a very pretty shade of green.

We ordered lunch and we chatted for about an hour. I found out the the Schuyler's father was the dean to the college. They said that if I enrolled they could put in a good word for me. I knew that this would be an amazing school to go to and now I've made some friends who are enrolling as well.
