As a Wattpad author, I am really fucking saddened to see that so many great authors are deleting their accounts or their stories.

One problem, that was made aware to me, is that it's overwhelming, which is very expected. However, it's the nagging about updating that adds the most onto it. They feel inadequate as people keep asking "When are you updating, you're taking too long." 

Like I may explain that I may not be on for a while, so that everyone knows, but that's because I want to. Not one of us has to give up a damn reasoning as to why we're not updating often because a lot of us write to escape. Escape bigger problems that we hide behind with our words. 

I'm so tired of all of these good people giving up what once made them happy because people feel entitled. Entitled to an update, entitled to a reasoning, entitled to your choice.

In my old Wattpad story, I had a lot of shit going on for me and there were like only 10-12 chapters of the actual story and the rest of them were Author's Notes. 

Someone commented: I came to read a fucking story, not hear about your life. Stop fucking writing author's notes and continue with the damn story. 

That fucking hurt, especially when I was going through a lot, struggling with beginning stages of depression, struggling with my self esteem and sexuality. So that comment hurt a lot. I gave up writing for quite some time.

No one has to do this, but they do. It's like a YouTuber, a Wattpad Author, anyone who does anything for anyone that is also supposed to make them happy. No one has to update for you, no one has to do anything for you and yet they do.

Please, respect our authors in this community and in our Phandom. I'm tired of watching all the great ones leave and give up. It's unfair for the viewers and readers, but most of all, unfair to the authors and creators. Just as unfair as stealing work.

Stop it and get it together, please, this is annoying and hurtful and nothing has been directed at me in a while, so imagine what the people going through this demanding battle are feeling. Respect them.
