Day Three | Chapter 01 : To Hope or to Despair | To Survive Daily Life
"Good Morning, everyone! It is now 7 AM and Night-Time is officially over! Let's give it our best to have fun today, alright!?"
Amber awoke to the loud, high pitched voice of MonoMachine. However, this morning, she didn't fall out of her bed in a mess of blankets and limbs.
Amber slowly pulled the blankets off of her, groggily making her way to the bathroom where she splashed water on her face to help wake herself up.
Once she had fully woken herself up, she changed into her casual wear and left her room, making sure to lock the door behind her.
Amber had yet to become used to the cameras, and she had the strong urge to flip them off as they followed her down the hall, but she pretended not to care.
She wouldn't have to deal with them much longer. They would leave the Castle soon, after all.
Amber entered the Mess Hall, immediately feeling the positive atmosphere as everyone appeared to have arrived and were either enjoying their meal or having a happy conversation with one another.
Amber took a seat next to Maya, who was leaned over her sketchbook while Jasmine attempted to see what she was drawing.
Bodil was telling what sounded like a very funny story to Ty, Jason, and Sky, who looked much better then he had last time Amber saw him.
Mitch was watching as Jerome devoured the stack of fish that was on his plate.
Amber began piling food onto her plate, listening to Bodil and Ty discussing pyrotechnics and parkour maps across the table.
Seto was sipping on his tea, listening to Mango who was asking quite a few questions about his magic abilities while Crow and Lara were having a conversation a few seats away, Jay having to translate what Crow said, of course.
Amber smiled. Everyone seemed to be getting along. Even Chase was getting along. He and Sky were talking about swimming and water-combat tactics.
"Hey, Seto. Do you have any updates on an exit?"
Seto set down his cup and shook his head. "Unfortunately, no. We should keep focusing on our efforts on the blocked exits, though."
"Well, I'm sure we won't have to worry much longer." Lara said, taking a bite of her food before noticing the looks the others were giving her.
"What? Surely you guys realize that the police'll come save us, right? We've been gone a while already."
"That is a good point, no one has been able to get in contact with us," Seto murmured, sipping his tea.
"Yeah, the police'll find us. It shouldn't be that hard to notice that 16 people have gone missing. Plus, how hard is it to find a fucking castle?" Sky smiled, looking much more hopeful.
"Yeah! We'll be let out of here soon. So, it really doesn't matter if we can't pry off those metal plates or the boards on the staircases! The police will find us and get us out of here!"
The hopeful reassurance, while not exactly needed, was very much welcomed as everyone began to murmur happily about the possibilities.
"What is this!? I smell hope!" The room went deathly silent as MonoMachine appeared on the table, and everyone began to shy away from them.
"What's this? You're putting hope in the police!? Since when have the police ever done anything useful? They're always being criticized for how they handle situations! Like, have you seen New York's news!?"
