About fifteen minutes after we left the park we finally caught up with Stella. We were basically heading to the other side of town. We passed everything that I knew so well. The school, the mall. There weren’t even many houses nearby. It was a really sketchy looking area. Stella didn’t really seem to care. She just kept driving. I was completely confused. I had no idea where she was going or what was about to happen to her. All I knew is that I had to make sure she was alright.

I pulled Alec’s phone from my back pocket. My but was hurting. Yeah, I don’t like putting things in my back pocket because then it’s just really random feeling when you sit on it. Usually people say that is the ‘wallet pocket’ or whatever. I used to put my wallet there but it was weird. That’s why I moved my wallet into my left jean pocket with my keys. My phone has always been in my right pocket. That’s just where it feels right. No pun intended.

I guess I just gave you a little look into my pockets. You’re welcome. Back to Alec’s phone though. I almost forgot that I had it. I wasn’t ready to look into it yet. I knew he couldn’t stop me or wouldn’t mind but I did. That’s what mattered. There was something though, that told me that there was information on the phone that would help me figure a few things out. It seemed dangerous though. I just set it down next to me in my seat.

“Are you sure about this?” Amy asked a little scared. I knew she didn’t like this place as much as me. I just felt like I had to be there for Stella.

“Yes, I’m sure about this,” I assured. “She’ll stop… Eventually.”

“When is eventually again?”

“Just shut up.”

“What did you say to me?” Amy asked stopping the car. I looked over at her a little scared and then over at Stella in the distance. I looked back at Amy.

“I… uh-“ I said trying to save myself but she interrupted.

“Did you really just tell me to shut up?”

“Umm…”

“I’m just kidding. Gosh. Take a joke,” she laughed and started driving again. I glared at her.

“You have problems!” I shouted.

“Hey, messing with you is fun.”

“That was unnecessary. All I said was shut up,” I growled. She stopped the car again. She gave me the same look from before. Fear filled my core once more. She started laughing again. “You need to stop doing that.”

“Fun sucker.”

“Is something wrong?” I asked as Amy started driving again but slower.

“No, why would you think that?”

“Because you kept stopping and now you aren’t even driving fast enough to catch up to Stella… You don’t want to catch up to her, do you?” I realized.

“Listen, Cole. We don’t need to follow her. She’s Stella fucking Hazelwood. She can handle things on her own. She’s tough. She also has been around a lot of bad people. Wherever she may be going might not be safe for people like us. You have no reason to continue to go after her,” Amy confessed. “We should turn around.”

“Is this about not liking Stella again? She hasn’t been that bad? In fact, I thought you guys were becoming friends.”

“We are friends.”

“Then what is it?” I yelled getting into her face. She didn’t look over at me. She continued to drive and keep her eyes on the road. She looked as if she was ready to say something but no words came out. “Is there something that you aren’t telling me?”
