Brrr.

It was cold. Freezing actually. I could hear a sound. Like a burble. That was the best way to describe it. There was no way to tell what it was. The area was too dark. It wasn’t nighttime though. Or at least it didn’t feel like.

Brrr.

My body was shivering like crazy. I crossed my arms over and realized that my clothes were even colder. What the hell? They were soaked. I felt my hair and it was wet too. I didn’t understand.

What was I doing standing in the darkness all wet and cold? Was this even real? I tried moving around the area. I still couldn’t see anything. I felt around to try and find something. Nothing was there.

Nothing was anywhere.

I didn’t know what to do. Why was I here? Did I need to be here? Maybe I was stranded somewhere. Left to be alone forever. Maybe I was looking for something. All of these things seemed like possibilities. It’s just that I couldn’t think straight enough to remember what was going on.

Brrr.

My body became colder. The darkness darkened. I didn’t know how it did that but it felt like it was even darker. I was even more lost. The burble sound grew louder. I still couldn’t decipher what that was either.

I attempted to speak. That didn’t work. My mouth wouldn’t open. I looked around once again. Nothing. Nothing but darkness. Nothingness to be more exact.

I was truly scared. Alone in the dark. Strange sounds. Me being unable to let someone know where I was.

Even if I could speak, who would I speak to?

I was shrouded in nothing. There was obviously no one around.

“Help! Help! Someone help!”

“Alec?” I was suddenly able to speak. That voice. I knew that voice. It was same voice I had been hearing and dreaming about.

I looked around. I looked everywhere I could. I still couldn’t see anything. I wanted to call out again but my mouth wouldn’t budge again.

“Help! Someone please help me!” The voice called once again.

“Alec!” I screamed. “Alec? Is that you?”

“Help!”

“Alec!” I yelled, running forward. I could hear his voice coming from this way. Or at least that’s what I thought.

“Help!” It was behind me this time. I ran back that way. Well, whatever way. I couldn’t tell which way I was going. Heck, I didn’t even know if I was going anywhere.

“Alec! I’m here! Where are yo-“ I lost my balance somehow. I started falling. I wanted to scream but of course there was no way that was happening.

Splash!

I was enveloped in water. That’s what the burbling sound had to be. I must have been in the river already and that’s why my clothes were wet. It still didn’t make sense though. Why was Alec yelling for help? Speaking of that, his voice was muffled. I could barely hear him. I could also barely breathe.

The water was taking me away. It was pulling me under and there was no way I could escape. I tried to fight it but there was no way. I wanted to scream again but I couldn’t. What the hell was happening?

“HELP! COLE, HELP ME!”

“Ahhhhh!” I screamed, as I woke up and toppled out of bed. “Ow.”
