Chapter 4 Fake to Real

I've been watching fairies dance for 10 minutes and royal couples started to congratulate me again. I just smiled and thanked them, after the next ten couples I started to get bored. Mom and dad got up and went out to the dance floor and started to waltz because some slower music started to play, funny thing about fairies is that some dance in the air while others remain on the floor. Fairies kept on coming up to me while I was alone at the throne until Jack came up beside me and whispered in my ear.

"Would you like to dance?" He asked.

"I can't dance." I whispered back.

"Come on, I'll teach you." He said grabbing my hand and pulling me to the crowd. He stopped and turned towards me and took my right hand and placed it on his left shoulder. Then he put his left hand and placed it on my right him, and he grabbed my left hand in his right hand and pulled me close and when I looked into his eyes I totally got lost in them and didn't know what was happening. I couldn't look away and neither could he, I eventually leaned my face in his chest cause he was taller than me, I even closed my eyes and I could feel his warmth. We danced for what felt like hours but it actually was about 10 minutes, I heard someone clear their throat behind us, I open my eyes and turn around and see Cole.

"May I?" He said as he reacted out his hand.

"Of course your highness." Jack said letting me go and Cole grabbing my hand from Jack's.

"I will be waiting for you by your throne princess." Jack said and took a bow and then turned and walked away. I almost felt like crying because I never wanted that perfect moment to end. I was thinking about stepping on Cole's foot and make him leave but decided that would be mean and I'm pretty sure he still wouldn't leave if I did step on him.

"So how does it feel to be back home?" He said softly really close to my face which I did not like at all.

"Um it feels nice." I said back.

"That's good." He said smiling. "You look beautiful if I haven't already said so." He said dipping me.

"Um thank you." I said in shock from the dip.

"You are quite a prize." He said pulling me back up and then leaning in to kiss me. I started to panic so I came up with an excuse to get away.

"Um Cole I'm not feeling so well, I need to go." I said quickly.

"Do you want me to assist you?" He asked.

"Oh no I'll be fine, I'll see you later, bye." I said rushing off. I see Jack and I rush over to him.

"What's wrong?" He asked concerned.

"I'm trying to get away from Cole. I told him I didn't  feel well." I said putting my hand on his shoulder to make it look like I needed him for balance.

"Ok pretend to faint." Jack said wrapping his arm around my waist. So I walked a few steps then I pretended to faint and Jack caught me and flew me to my room. When we were out of sight I opened my eyes and look up at Jack.

"Thanks you are a life saver." I said smiling.

"I'm am always here for you." He said looking down at me with a side smile. Jake and I ended up staying in my room for the rest of the night just talking. He told the other guards that he was with me because word got out that some fairies saw me faint earlier and they were looking for me. I did most of the talking, I just told him about my life back on earth. How I was going to university for business, Jack didn't know what that was. I told him how I loved nature and my favorite animal were butterflies, I know they aren't animals but I like them a lot. I told him about my family back on earth, my mom, dad and sister, and also about my friends. I also told him how I got taken, how Tyler attacked me and how the two guys came.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that, if only I had found you soon." Jack said getting mad at himself.

"Jack its fine, the important thing is that you did find me when you did." I said putting my hand on his.

"I just hate the idea of someone hurting you." He said softly looking down at our hands.

"Well no one will if I have you with me." I said with a smile trying to make him feel better.

"And I will always be with you." He said looking into my eyes. At that moment I felt a push to lean in and Jake did the same, I closed my eyes and waited to meet Jack's lips when a knock at the door startled us both.

"Um come in." I said with a shaky voice.

"There you are. I heard that you fainted and I got so worried." Lavender said opening the door and hovering over to Jack and me.

"Are you alright?" Lavender asked worried.

"Yes, I'm fine now." I said reassuring her.

"Thank goodness." Lavender said exhaling loudly.

"I'm sorry I left but I had to get away from Cole." I said shivering with disgust.

"Really cause after you left he was worried and wouldn't stop asking the guards about you." Lavender said confused.

"Oh sure he was worried. Worried that he wouldn't get another chance to make out with me." I said in an angry tone.

"You two made out, wow you work fast." Lavender said with a big smile on her face and I could sense that Jake was frowning.

"No we didn't he just tried to but I turned him down, that's why I left, I fake fainted." I revealed.

"And I told the guards to keep Cole in the dark, to make an excuse to not tell him anything about Grace." Jack said.

"Grace?" Lavender asked confused.

"Oh that's my name back on earth." I corrected.

"Ok well it's a pretty name, I'll just keep calling you Echo cause that's how I know you." Lavender said smiling.

"Works for me." I smiled back. We stayed in my room talking for a while, Lavender went on about all the different guys she has been with and all of them were princes. She said she still hasn't found the one she truly loves yet but he is out there somewhere. After the banquet was over and everyone started to leave a guard knocked on the door and said that Lavender's escort was waiting for her so she gave me a hug and hovered through the door. The guard also said that that my dad wants to talk to Jack about something, Jack said that he would be right there so the guard bowed and then left.

"Looks like duty calls." Jack joked which I laughed at.

"Ok well thanks again for everything, I had a great time." I said blushing.

"My pleasure. Goodnight." He said softly.

"Goodnight." I said back. Jack smiled then turned away and started to hover to the door, I turned to walk over to my closest so I could change out of this big dress. I was just about to open the closet door when I felt a hand grab my arm and spin me around really fast, I tried to say something but Jack's and my lips met. He pulled me in close so I was pressed up against him with his arms wrapped around me, and I put my arms around his neck and had my left hand tangled in his short blonde hair. Jack took his right hand and lifted it through my arms to place it on my cheek and get it tangled in my hair. The kiss was long which I didn't mind, then Jack pulled away and then softly kissed me on the forehead and flew out the door. I just stood frozen not knowing what to do, I slowly lifted my hand and touched my lips, Jack and I had just kissed, and it was a real kiss.  I smiled and jumped onto my bed and hugged my pillow screaming into to. I didn't bother changing cause I was so happy I just fell asleep in my dress, I had nothing but sweet dreams.
