Chapter 14 Getting Better

My body still hurt quite a bit but I did feel a little better, I was moved into my room a few days ago, I've been resting ever since. Nyx, Jenny, and Venus have been seeing me and giving me some food a water keeping my strength up. Nyx told me that Ivy was in her bed resting just like me. Apparently Endora and Jasper had been torturing her trying to get information from her but she didn't give in, when I see her I will have to thank her for being so strong and a good friend. The poison had been completely taken out of me thank goodness but my hands and feet stayed black scaring me forever. Jack would come by once in a while and I mean every hour stay for like 5 minuets then leave, since he wasn't my personal guard anymore there were other guards outside my door watching me so he would have to ask to enter my room and see me. After I had some lunch Nyx and Jenny stayed and talked with me for a bit about what we had found in the library, even through we got the poison there was other interesting things about poison that would come in handy. We could make an elixir that would protect us from any kind of poison attack, also what plants make out poison and how poisonous they are. Nyx also looked at the book I found about water powers and asked if we could ask a water fairy to teach me how to use my powers. Also a bounce Elvena found an ancient text about the dragon heart, I'm a descendent of a very powerful fairy who found a dragon, in the ancient days dragons were dangerous creatures and were usually killed. However my ancestor didn't kill the dragon, he had noticed that the dragon was hurt so he decided to heal the dragon. Grateful the dragon gave him a very powerful gift, the dragon heart. He could call upon the powers of a dragon and control dragons, but he was warned that a fairy had never possessed the dragon heart so it was a mystery of what would happen. At first my ancestor used the dragon heart to stop the killings of dragons and to live in peace with them but things changed. The power got to his head and started to consume him with darkness, he later controlled dragons to create a war between different kingdoms causing many deaths. The dragons heart was passed down his family line all the way to me, but now I don't have it anymore thanks to Endora, I asked if she had found anything about taking it back if was stolen but she didn't see anything. Jack comes in a little later followed by Cole behind him, Cole hesitated coming into my room but eventually walked in and stood behind Jack looking at the ground.

"I know it's a little hard to understand but we need to talk about what Endora said." Jack insisted.

"Fine." I said sitting up.

"I know you don't really like me Echo, I wouldn't blame you I'm just so sorry of what I put you through. At first it was about being king and the power Endora promised me but over time from you trying to avoid me I did start to care for you. I guess you refusing me and not wanting to give me a chance got to me, maybe not have been shown any love my whole life I just wanted someone to care for me." Cole confessed and for the first time I didn't hate him, I felt sorry for him. He cared for me even though I did everything in my power to avoid him, I finally saw him as who he truly was.

"He did help you escape." Jenny said softly. I looked at Jenny and realized that she was right, he could have given that dagger to Endora but he refused and he did help us escape.

"Cole, I'm sorry too, I treated you horribly, not really giving you a chance and hearing that you are sorry of what you have done I know now that I can trust you. And Endora had a big part in this filling you with darkness and hunger for power, so it's not completely your fault." I said. 

"I'm glad to hear that, I just hope you can forgive me and I would still like to stay here." Cole smiled.

"Of course." I nodded.

"Jack I hope that we can grow to be close brothers." Cole said softly to Jack.

"Even though you were trying to marry the girl I love and get me out of the way, I have always wanted a brother." Jack said putting a hand on Cole's shoulder.
