I follow the crowd to the main hall and then dad opens a door to a staircase. I follow behind him as he leads us down creepy dark tunnel. We come to the end and the tunnel that opens up to a huge cave with an underground river. I look over to my left and see a huge platform with several rock arches in the middle.
"What is this place?" I asked my dad.
"This is the hidden gates. These are portals to all the kingdoms, every palace has a different variation. It makes for quick transport." My dad said.
"So I didn't have to take the gold ring, I could have come down here instead." I stated.
"Hypothetically yes but we don't actually have a portal to Ravenshire." My dad said.
"So what are we doing here then?" I asked.
"We are going to make one." My dad said.
"Really!" I exclaimed.
"Yes, queen Gin knows how to make them, it is a rare gift that charm fairies poses." My dad said looking over at a fairy with long white hair and entrancing silver eyes.
"Thank you Tyro, Lavender has spoken of you many times princess. She is very happy that you are back home." Gin said in an angelic voice.
"So your her mother." I said.
"Yes." She smiled.
"Well its very nice to meet you and I'm glad I'm home too." I bowed and she bowed her head and smiled.
"Shall we begin." My dad announced.
"Of course." Gin said softly and flew to the platform. "Jade would you assist me?" Gin asked.
"Yes of course." A fairy with short brown hair with a green streak said joining Gin on the platform. She waved her arms around the ground rose and made an arch. Jade moved her fingers as if she was writing in the air and I noticed that something was being carved into the arch.
"What is she writing?" I asked.
"She is labeling it, identifying it as a portal to Ravenshire." My dad explained.
"Oh that is handy, because the portals all look the same." I said.
"Yes, plus it is a key element in making the portal." My dad said.
"How so?" I asked.
"This is special rock, to carve the location completes the spell. The earth is all connected, but it is separated by magic and the earth knows this. It is like a magnet, it will pull you to whatever is pulling it." Aster said.
"Amazing." I said. After Jade was done Gin touched the edges of the arch and moved her hands to the center. Suddenly her hands began to glow bright white and she continued to do this as the center of the portal began to turn blue, resembling water. She moved her hands in some crazy ways and the writing began to glow, the portal became brighter and a flash of light filled the cave. When the light disappeared the arch glowed a bright blue as it swirled and moved like water.
"It is done." Gin said.
"Wonderful. Ok Echo all you have to do is walk into it and you will appear in Ravenshire on the other side. It is just like walking through a door, just keep walking." My dad instructed.
"Ok sounds easy enough." I said and walked up to the portal. I stopped in front of it and looked at it when I felt a hand grab mine, I look to my right and see Jack standing beside me.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Ya." I said smiling.
"Ok cause you look like something is up." He said concerned.
