- Real quick guys, something weird happened with the last three chapters and I think it didn't notify some of you, so make sure you read those first.. don't want to give spoilers. We silently stared at the girl, without saying anything. We just looked at her for a long, long time. We continued looking at her strangely, and I could tell she was getting impatient.
"What do you want?" she asked.
Her hands were cuffed to the table with some sort of magical cuffs, which glowed blue against her face.
"We should be asking you," Lukas replied.
It was him, Theo and I in the room, all of the others had gone out. We took precautions so there were no catfights between the girls.
The room was dimly lit except for the cuffs, and there was only two chairs, one occupied by the girl and the other by Theo. Lukas circled the table, and I leaned against a wall. Basically it looked like a classical police interrogation scene.
"Why were you in the Cursed Realm?" I asked finally, breaking the silence.
"I'm not telling you anything."
Just as she said that, she jumped up in her seat, and shrieked quietly, then sat back down. I noticed a small button in Lukas's hand.
He must be controlling the cuffs, I thought.
My guess was confirmed when Lukas said "Talk or I'll do it again."
"Fine," she huffed and then started explaining. "My father was one of the Cursed, and I couldn't live with that, so I researched all about the portals, the realms, the doors, the Cursed, and I finally found a way to find him, and control all of the other Cursed. They were already seeking revenge, I just taught them how to get it."
"How do you control them?" Theo asked.
"Like I'd ever tell-" she jumped up and screamed again. "If you let my hands go, I'll show you."
Theo snorted. "Do you think we're dumb?"
"Let her free," I said, stepping away from the wall and toward their table.
"What?" Theo asked, shocked.
"Just do it."
"Leon I don't think-"
"Do it."
Lukas pressed on the button and held it for a while, and the blue glowing handcuffs vanished.
I leaned over and studied her hands. There was some sort of glove on both hands, with half a purple sphere on her palms. The gloves let her fingers free, and it looked like it did more than just control the Cursed.
"Is it with these things?" I asked, pointing at the purple stones.
She hesitated, but then nodded.
Then, she threw her arm up toward my face, but my hand stuck out in front of hers, and I blocked off her shot. I pushed her hands back down on the table, and Lukas quickly put the cuffs back on.
"I can call them anytime I want, and you can't stop it," she smiled, pleased with herself.
"Well, right now you can't. And we have the power to keep you that way all we want," I gestured to the cuffs with my chin.
She sighed. "You guys are making this way too difficult."
"Then speak up. What's your plan? What's you revenge?" I asked, leaning back against the wall.
"N-" she jumped up again. "We're planning on taking over the Sky Kingdom, obviously. It's our right to take it back, after all we've been through."
"That's all?" Theo asked.
"Yep," the girl replied.
Something told me that that definitely wasn't all, but I didn't say a thing. I didn't want to jump to conclusions. The room started to lose light, and then it fully went out, and we were only left with the dim light of the cuffs.
"The lights went out, I guess it's my time to shine," she said and started laughing.
"Ha-ha great..." just as Lukas opened the lightbulb with a jolt of electricity, we noticed she was gone. "...pun."
"Where is she?" Theo stood up and looked around the room frantically.
A cold, black mist started forming behind Theo, and then it eventually took the shape of the girl. She kicked Theo, and he hit his back on the table. All of us were unarmed, only left with our powers.
Lukas started forming electrical bolts in his hands, and threw them one by one at the girl, but they all missed, as she ran around the room and then did some weird motion with her fingers, and some weird... magical spell looking thing and she formed a ball of darkness which flew straight towards Lukas's face.
Too late, I dove towards him, trying to push him out of the way, and screaming "Watch out!" but the ball collided with his face, causing a him to sprawl onto the floor, and he passed out.
I could hear him breathing, but it was slow. She did the same thing to Theo just as I stood up and watched in horror. I could sense both of them breathing, but they were both faint.
She did a different motion with her hands this time. She stuck out her hands like an "L" but with her thumb, index, and middle finger, and then she pulled her right arm back and her left arm forward, as if pulling a bow.
I stared, eager to see what would happen next. She quickly thrust her right arm forward and a bullet of darkness shot toward me. I was able to dodge it, but then she threw another, which I was also able to dodge, but she was throwing them quickly, and I couldn't keep this up forever.
I ducked underneath the table in a desperate attempt to escape.
There was silence for a minute, maybe she was thinking of what to do next. I waited in fear for some of the Cursed to show up and then cut me into shreds, but nothing happened. When I looked back up, the door was open and the girl wasn't there.
"Hey!" I screamed and jumped over the table and outside into the hall.
She was strolling through like she didn't have a care in the world.
My mind couldn't conjure up anything to stop her, so I tried one of her magic tricks. I made the same "L" shape she had, but I had mixed up the rest. I couldn't remember no matter how hard I tried.
So I just winged it and stuck out both of my hands, still in the shape of the "L," and blew out a soft breath. The floor in front of me started to move backwards as if it were a treadmill. The girl turned around, shocked at my use of magic, but for some reason, my power was draining away from me much quicker than it did when I was using my power.
Wait... what am I doing? I looked at my hands in surprise, and even though I couldn't see her for a second, she kicked me in the chest and sent me flying backwards. I sprawled on the ground, unable to get back up. There was no way I was doing magic again.
As if she read my mind (maybe she had, I don't know) she stood above me and said "Magic is only for those who know how to use them. Stay away from it, or you might hurt yourself."
She stuck out her hands toward my face and the purple stones started to glow. Just as I was about to get up, a dark blast shot from her hands and into my face, and my vision went black.
