After parting ways with Theo and Lukas, I walked back over into my cabin.
I lay down on my bed and put my hand in my pocket. My phone was gone. I looked around for my old pants. They were under the table. I knelt and picked them up. I searched the pockets and found my phone, surprisingly not broken.
I opened it up.
It had about half its battery. Obviously, the storm had taken my house, along with my charger.
I searched for my sister's contact and called it.
The phone replied with a No reception.
We were in the sky after all.
I put it on the cabinet and thought about the journey that lay ahead. What had I been thinking? It was my second day here, I'd had absolutely no training except for defeating a few Heroes with my "Upgraded Body," and getting stabbed my an iron katana.
And now I was volunteering to go on a mission that would either get us killed or make us go insane. Both odds sucked.
I was deep into thought when I heard a knock on my door. Instead of getting up, I focused on the wind in the room. I willed it into a tiny fist, and brought it towards the door. I started to turn the door knob, but it was too hard. Instead, I let go and opened it manually.
Skylar was there, not so happy.
"We need to talk," she said and stepped inside.
"Welcome," I muttered.
She sat on one of the chairs. I sat back down on my bed.
"You have no idea how the Hall of Pandora-"
"Pandora Hall," I interjected.
"Doesn't matter! It can be said both ways! Anyway, if you get lost, it can take you years to find your way back, and that's why that Hero went insane. He searched the Hall, going through every door, passing every adventure, until he found home."
"Well what can we do?"
"I can sometimes sense what's on other side of doors, I don't know if it will work for the Hall, though."
"Too bad you're not coming."
"I'm coming with," she said and smiled. "Did you not hear my message?"
"Wait, so that was really you?" I was shocked.
I thought I had imagined it.
"Duh. I'm the daughter of Ariel, ruler of The Mind Depths! I can read people's minds, speak to people in their heads, et cetera et cetera-"
"Telekinesis," I pointed out.
"Not that well with it yet. I can move pencils and stuff, but I can't do anything like in the battlefield. Also thanks for getting me killed by my own half-brother," she looked annoyed.
"Sorry about that."
"Hey, I'm kidding. You did what you had to do. I can respect that."
I certainly couldn't. I had gotten this girl eliminated in the battlefield, now she was helping me take on a very dangerous mission.
"Thanks," I said and made a fist for a fist-bump.
She punched it.
"Hey anyway, you have power training in thirty minutes, for two hours and then sword training for three," she said and smiled. "You'll be busy today."
"Yeah, but I need to get ready if I'm going on a super dangerous mission that might get me lost," I replied.
"You might not get lost in the first place, but then again, that's a one in a billion chance," she sighed.
