That's when the War for the Skies began.

Everyone in our group dove at any of the Cursed we saw. I pulled out my sword and slashed wildly at each one I saw. I took down one that looked like a pirate. Another one that looked like an old-fashioned assassin tried to stab me on the neck, but a flying knife from Mia found home in the middle of his forehead, and he exploded into purple dust.

The prisoners were just as good at fighting. The rock monster broke off the sail of the ship and swung it around, almost knocking a few of us off the boat, but mostly killing the Cursed in the process. Finally after about a minute of swinging, a Cursed man- who looked like the Hulk- grabbed the sail and threw it overboard. In rage, the rock monster dove at him and the two broke into a huge fight.

The pirate captain that looked half dwarf took the wheel and steered us away from one of the bridges of the Sky Kingdom. A Cursed tried to take him out by shooting him, but the pirate captain was much quicker. He pulled out a shotgun from his jacket pocket and shot the Cursed in the face.

We were prevailing, even if for a while. We had basically taken this ship, but it was mostly destroyed, without a sail and missing some cannons which were thrown overboard. There were still more than thirty of the Cursed on the ship however, and we were outnumbered.

The other ships didn't join into the fight, thank goodness, but they were beginning to attack the army of the Sky and taking our some campers. We had to take this ship quick.

A part of my mind told me to half-activate the lightning bolt, but I was afraid I would just suddenly combust. I had tapped into its energy enough. If I tried it again, I might've actually exploded.

So I decided to bring some of my actual skill- which I lacked due to very little training- into the fight. I used my sword to cut the neck of one of the Cursed and then before he faded away, I grabbed his gun with my left hand. I shot at anyone who approached me, though I could tell the bullets were running out.

Suddenly Mia ran toward me and I shot at her, thinking she was one of the Cursed, but luckily it had run out of ammunition. I held it firmly in my left hand and got ready throw. I tried spotting one of the Cursed who looked weak and frail. On port was another barbarian who looked like he would faint any second. I threw the gun to his forehead, blowing him up into purple dust.

Then Mia arrived next to me.

"What?" I asked.

She slashed at one of the Cursed who approached.

"Look!" she pointed.

I turned around to look but instantly wished I hadn't.

Our camp was being wrecked. Most of the ships had steered in their direction and were now attacking and destroying our camp like water through paper. The sight made my insides burn and I lost focus for a second and would've died if it weren't for Mia, who stabbed one of the Cursed in the face.

"We have to take the ship, quick!" I yelled at the pirate captain.

"Already on it! Let's go boys!" he said in a very dwarven accent.

The prisoners rejoiced as they took out the remaining Cursed who approached.

The dwarf captain steered us toward the rest of the ships where fellow campers were trying their best to defend themselves against the huge onslaught of attackers. We rammed into the end of one ship, destroying half of it and its crew in the process. Without the majority of it, the ship started to float downward into the clouds, and disappeared. I still wasn't exactly sure what was below the clouds, but I didn't want to know for certain.
