"Go on, open it. It might be Adrien." She smiled and Marinette bit her lip and stepped away from the pasta and to the door. She looked out the peephole and saw blond hair. She bit down harder on her lip, drawing blood. She sighed and opened the door and looked at Adrien.
"Can I see her?" He gave her pleading eyes.
"Why would I let you? You walked out on me, us! I just got her back a few hours ago, why would I let you ruin that!" She glared at him, the hate in her eyes for him burning bright.
"You said if I wanted to see her I could! Why can't I see her!" He yelled at her.
"She's asleep," Marinette growled. "Just go back to your whore Chloe." She slammed the door and heard cries from her room. She walked in and saw Emma crying.
"I had a nightmare!" Emma cried and Marinette picked her up and carried her to the table. She set her down and finished making the pasta and set out plates and made her smile. There was banging on the door. "Who's that Maman?"
"Adrien," she gritted her teeth. "He's unimportant."
"Why can't he come inside?"
"He doesn't need too. Now please eat," Emma took her fork and got a little pasta and ate it. Marinette smiled at her daughter and ate more. When they both finished Marinette cleaned their plates. "Thank you Maman!"
"No problem Emma," Marinette walked over to her. "I have a guest bedroom down the hall. You can sleep in there." She took Emma's bag and helped her to the room. She put her things down on the bed and looked at Emma.
"Can you help me into my pjs?" She asked her. Marinette sighed and helped her into the purple shirt and pants that were too small for her body.
"These look a little small for you." Marinette propped her up on the bed.
"I like them!" Emma smiled and Marinette helped her into bed. She walked out of the room and to the front door and slammed it open.
"What!" She yelled at Adrien.
"Can I see her?" She growled at him and he growled back. "If I am her father I deserve every right to see her."
"Fine," Marinette growled and let him in. The faint stain on the stairs was still there.
•∞Four Years Ago∞•
Marinette hummed a song as she walked to the stairs. Adrien was downstairs watching his game while she was cleaning up their room. They decided on adoption being the best fit. She gasped as her water broke on the wooden floor and she looked down and saw the clear liquid mixed with a small amount of blood. "A-Adri-" she got halfway through his name when she slid on the liquid and tumbled down the stairs. Adrien heard the thumping and ran to the stairs to see her at the bottom with her blood on her legs. "A-Adrien, we need to get me to a hospital."
He just, stood there. Her blood seeped out of her and she held her stomach. "I-I can't."
"Adrien? Adrien!" She shouted his name and cried as he ran out of the house and called an ambulance for her. He walked down the street as the ambulance passed him.
•∞Four Years Later∞•
Marinette looked at the stain and sighed. "I'm over it." He looked at her. Her tiny black cat tattoo on her shoulder faintly shown from under her shirt as he walked behind her. He still had the Ladybug tattoo on his shoulder blade. She wasn't over it.
"You, still have the tattoo."
"I like cats so I kept it." She didn't want to talk to him. They walked to Emma's room and Adrien looked at the little girl.
